Yeah thanks for the info. Too bad DA didn't consult you before signing Kemba. :)
Also why I cringe a bit when the Patriots draft Sony Michel or Dominque Easley.

Obviously the Pats docs know this too, they have seen the MRI's, done physical exams, etc. and have way more information than I do pontificating from afar. Plus being good for 4-5 years in the NFL might make you a great pick, no one is worried if they will need a knee replacement at 40.

But certainly risk involved with any of these players, some more than others.

That's why the data says 50-90%, not 100% :)

In all honestly, Gore I'm sure has arthritis too. Probably just not so severe and he has ben able to play with it.

But we are mostly flying blind without the details of these surgeries and MRIs. I cringe, but hope for the best. Certainly there are success stories.

Looks like Harden pulled a Hammy. Depending on how bad it is that could easily flip the series

Jesus I hate the Nets. Blake Griffin dogged it so badly he couldn’t get minutes on the Pistons...despicable

So aggravating to think about what a Kyrie, Tatum, and Brown team could have achieved it Kyrie weren’t such a douche.

Six points down with s couple minutes left in the third. Giannis gets fouled, badly misses two FTs. Nets run down and get a wide open corner three by Kyrie. Giannis then gets stripped going to the hoop, and the Nets run out for a dunk. After Lopez picks up the fourth foul on KD, Giannis throws up a brick three. Giannis then travels, and fouls KD on a stupid reach in. What should have been a two possession game is now a 14 point lead.

KD commits his fifth foul in the final second of the third, but the cowardly officials don’t call it

This is a very fine post. You nailed it. And that non call was absurd.

Even without Harden, the Nets are good.

Blake Griffin has as many threes tonight as the entire Bucks team. Fvck this game.
Unreal. Meanwhile Mike James (who?) has played 26 minutes and is 5-9 with 12 points and 7 rebounds...Mike James plays point guard

The guy that always destroys the Celtics, Middleton, has 12 points on 6-21 shooting, and hasn’t shot a FT yet. He’s 0-3 from three, and a ridiculous 6-18 from inside the arc

I'm honestly curious how much of Blake's decline is skill based, how much is age/injury and how much is him basically not putting in any effort at all when he was in DET.

I mean it depends on what you mean by decline. If you’re talking about from when he was a superstar it’s almost all based off of age and injuries.

If you’re talking about the “decline” he suffered at the beginning of this year that he’s somehow remarkably shaken off in these playoffs...I think we all know the answer there

I'm talking about from say 2-3 years ago when he was an All-Star in DET. I think it's: 40% injury, 40% not caring, 20% not having Chris Paul to get him easy buckets

To say Milwaukee played an incredibly stupid game would be an understatement. With very little effort from Brooklyn to force it, just all jumpshots. Every play design, every fastbreak, any momentum building moments, just letting in fly.

He had almost a surgery a year for a 4 or 5 year period. That'll do it

He hasn't been all that great in the playoffs at all. He's having a good game tonight, anyway.

The Nets are so loathsome I really don’t know how anyone can root for them.

If you remove Joe Harris (and Bruce Brown and Claxton but those are fairly deep rotation guys) who is their most likable player? I think it honestly might be James Harden which is.....just wow

Just tuned in

Nets up 19 without Beardman? How?
Bucks shooting 17% from 3 and 56% from the line. Got demoralized and gave up pressing their advantage inside. Bunch of gutless chumps.

Only Giannis really showed up for them, but he bricked all three of his free throws. Worried his ineptitude from the stripe could kill the Bucks in a close series.

I never said he was great in the playoffs. He’s playing a lot of minutes in the playoffs for a very talented team.

He couldn’t get on the floor for the Detroit Pistons earlier in the year. The Pistons might be the least talented team in the NBA.

Something doesn’t pass the smell test there

Yeah he hasn't been great in the playoffs, but also just take a look at his split regular season, the gap between his DET and BRK performance is massive. Also just the eye test. He didn't dunk once in DET, he never crashed hard for rebounds, made no effort on D.

This Nets team continues to play hard and focused on both ends of the floor....and still has Durant and Kyrie. The only tome they have let their foot off the pedal was in G3 vs us then quickly recovered.

Some if it is loafing, some of it is the talent around him. Either way, he has a pretty big fork in his back, relatively speaking.

Blake was coming off two knee surgeries, hadn’t been cleared to run until after season began then didn’t have a training camp. He was in preseason mode his entire time in Detroit.

Amazing to think back to a year ago when people were gushing about the Bucks "historically great point differential" and wondering who could beat them.

They absolutely can win this series (obviously will shoot better from outside), but if this team can't get through the Nets without Harden...man.

Good thing they have lots of future picks they can trade to improve.

Coach Bud is gone if they lose this series, right? That would three disappointing playoff performances in a row.

I would hope so, for Giannis' sake. But I think their problems go much deeper than coaching. There may be a fundamental cap to a Giannis-led team without another dynamic scoring star, and they don't have much path to acquiring one (although stranger things have happened).
