That didn't look like a play where Love was trying to inbound the ball. Looked like he was hitting it back to the ref in order to get out of the game. Still not cool, but he did get whacked pretty good from behind on the play and was rightfully annoyed with the no-call

But it’s not really about being happy. It’s about putting in even a modicum of effort, enough so as not to actively sabotage the job you’re being paid for. I’m sure everyone on this board has had bad days at work where they still put in more effort than Love did there, and for a tiny fraction of the pay.

We’re past the date for buyout players to sign elsewhere and still be eligible to play in the postseason, so if he wants out now it’s not because he’s chasing a ring or wants to play meaningful minutes, it’s because he wants to be paid millions to sit on his ass and not play basketball. I’m sure they’d be happy to accommodate if he’s willing to give up a large portion of the $60 million he’s owed over the next two season.
When has Love’s work ethic ever been questioned? I watched a 30 min segment about him one time on what he did earlier in his career to reshape his body and become an All-Star caliber player.

Probably shouldn't overreact to a five second clip that I think was pretty clearly just a frustrated guy trying to pick up a T in a meaningless game.

Golden State went up 12-11 on a Steph 3 with 8:40 remaining in the 1Q.

Over their next 22 possessions they shot 0-17 from the field with 5 turnovers.

During that 9:40 stretch the Mavs went on a 28-0 run until “Friend of SoSH” Jordan Poole knocked down a 3 to cut rhe Mavs lead to 39-15.

Wizards win, Beal and Westbrook continue to play at a really high level and Washington have won 9 of their last 10.

Lakers have a weird roster with Drummond. Really, the Lakers are better when Davis plays the 5 and LeBron plays the 4 (defensively) and while I understand the need to have a center to soak up some minutes, having Gasol/Harrell/Drummond seems pretty superfluous.

The thing about that pass is there was no reason to throw it underhanded other than style points.

Mavericks beat the Wizards by 1, Luka with 31 points, 12 rebounds and 20 assists. He outduels Westbrook, who went for 42/10/9.

Pacers beat OKC by 57 points, 152-95. Pacers were up by 67 points at one point, but OKC ended on the game on a 10-0 run. The all-time record for margin of victory is 68 points.

I actually don't think there was another way to throw it. If you do an overhand lob, you don't get the same velocity because you can't use topspin.

Pacers were playing without Brogdon, too.

Ugly win for Philly tonight. Beat Spurs in OT 113-111 on Ben Simmons’ tip just before the horn of an Embiid miss. Philly led by as much as 17 on a night where Simmons and Harris were MIA on offense. But it’s a big win and puts them back on top in the East. Philly visits Chicago on Monday night. Five games in seven days this week.

Bill Oram from The Athletic : Lakers say LeBron James has a sore right ankle and won't return. The sprain that knocked him out for 20 games was the right ankle.
Ankles can dog you for awhile. Lebron can seem invincible/inevitable but this is his second major injury in three years, and these things hit you differently as you age. Kobe averaged 27/6/6 at age 34, missed a year with an achilles injury and played two crummy seasons before retiring. It's not the same injury and it's not the same person, but the end could be closer than anyone thinks.

Meh, LeBron was the favorite for MVP prior to a freak injury from Solomon Hill taking him out at the knees. There has been talk about LeBron tailing off and the number of his minutes have gone on in these threads for nearly 5 years. This is similar to Brady being finished in 2014.

Having said that, he wasn’t the same player when he missed a chunk of the season two years ago when he returned with everyone else in peak game condition. I wouldn’t be surprised to see the ankle slow him down this year at all but no.....the end isn’t close to being near just as it wasn’t 5 years ago.

Well it’s five years closer than it was five years ago. ;-P

But yeah, with his combo of size, skill, and hoops IQ, it wouldn’t shock me if he has 2-3 more near-peak seasons left after this one.

Lakers would be in the play-in game right now if the season ended today. Could you imagine, they get bounced by Steph going nuts in one game and then inexplicably lose to Memphis/San Antonio? If LeBron isn't right, that isn't that hard to see happening. It is only one game, anything can happen.

Pretty easy to imagine. The play in game is the definition of a coinflip.

The delicious tears from the LA fans about the unfairness of the play-in game are looming, but I don't want to get myself too excited.
We are in the same boat. I stuck around for this shit show of a season, I want a 7 game series. I won't be whining if the C's lose though, it's their fault they are looking at the play in game.

There is a substantial consolation prize to getting bounced in the play-in round: a #14 draft pick at worst, with a 3-10% shot at a top 4 pick.

Watch the Lakers get ousted and somehow find themselves with Cade Cunningham...

Yes he was, +155, if you look at the Top 10 graph, he had passed Joker.

Ehhh...I guess he was the betting favorite, largely thanks to LeBron's media militia putting it out there. I guess I was thinking that once the actual voters started crunching the numbers, Jokic and Embiid would have come out ahead, assuming perfect health for all involved.

Westbrook 14 pts 21 reb 24 ast

Edit: *seventeen players* scored in double figures in the 154-141 Wiz win. That has to be an NBA record, certainly for a regulation game.

Curry and Draymond both have 37 Hero Points with a little over 2 minutes to go.

Edit: An assist was found in the last commercial break. Draymond with the most Hero Points at 38.

Do any two players have a higher opinion of their own modest abilities than Marcus Morris and Montrezl Harrell? Guys act like they're the second comings of KD and Moses Malone every time they make a bucket.

JaVale is out here doing a lot of JaVale things tonight. Scoring points and making blooper clips on virtually every alternating possession.
