As Bosoxen posted in the main thread, Oregon replaces Washington in the Pac 12 CG. Quack, quack.

San Jose hosts the Mountain West Championship via rankings in the polls (25th)... but in Las Vegas, not San Jose, due to Santa Clara county restrictions. Kinda cool neutral site championship game (Boise has hosted the last 4, I believe).

I wonder when the Group of Five conferences are going to figure out the College Football Playoff committee is never, ever, going to break open the Power Five cartel. Central Florida learned it. Now Cincinnati gets the same treatment.

The Sun Belt, MAC, etc. exist to provide schedule filler for the Big 10, SEC, etc. And then the CFP committee can use its self-justifying logic -- Florida doesn't pay for losing to LSU because a loss to an SEC team is always "quality loss." A two-loss Iowa State team (one of those losses being to a SUN BELT team) gets #6 because...well, because Big Ten.

And the pushback is that the Group of Five Schools play weak schedules...well, what can a Cincinnati or Coastal Carolina or UCF do? The only P5 games they can get are road games, at a time that is convenient for the P5 team. And this year nonconference games were cancelled left and right.

They know it. Their only hope is to turn public sentiment enough that they can get a marginal change when the next TV contract rolls around.

Although even by CFP Committee standards, giving Iowa State a Big Ten bump is pretty egregious.

Questions about this weekend:

1) If Clemson loses narrowly to Notre Dame, do the Tigers stay in the Top 4 if everyone else (and Texas A&M) win?
2) If Notre Dame loses bigly to Clemson, might the Irish fall out of the Top 4?
3) If Ohio State somehow loses to Northwestern, the Buckeyes can't stay in the Top 4, can they?
4) Alabama can't possibly fall out of the Top 4 no matter what it does, can it?
5) What is the lowest ranked team you think has even a semi-realistic path to getting into the Top 4?

If USC pulls this out somehow, they’ll be the least impressive undefeated power five champion that I can remember (obviously the record is helped by covid though). PAC-12 is a complete mess

For a second there, I thought they were going to give the $50,000 scholarship to one kid and not the other because Reggie Bush can’t throw a football.
I wanted to watch them throw it chest pass style to make it feel authentic

This is so ridiculous, it boggles the mind.
One of the worst people in college sports.
Good. Keep him and Notre Dame at home. Problem solved.
Looks like the answers to the question on on the subject "Notre Dame" on the Jeopardy board.

Justin Fields picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue. Damn he's been poor in too many crucial spots. These INTs are brutal.

And then they miss the FG. tOSU is playing like a team choking under the pressure. How could they expect to hang with Alabama and the Devil Saban?

Tremendous execution by tOSU’s offensive line. Obviously the runner got an extra 20 yards with some sweet moves downfield, but any warm body gets the first 40.

But no points.
That play clock violation on 3rd and 2 is unforgivable.
