Punter/Holder from Minnesota points out that Butker may have kicked game-winning FG off of some sort of tee, which is disallowed in NFL
That seems to check out from the video. Assuming that’s legal.Someone on twitter said they mark spot with a coin.
The way Folk kicks, the holder must mark the spot with an anchor.Someone on twitter said they mark spot with a coin.
This is funny and I will never get sick of it.Well crap. Patriots about to lose another draft pick.
No more whining about the Celtics trainers!
But how big is the freaking needle they are using for some local or steroid? I thought things like 25g wouldn't cause a PTX. Why they can do lung bx without putting a chest tube after.Once this "complication" was announced, this was pretty clearly what happened, doesn't come as a surprise at all.
This is definitely a known risk of an injection like this, though you would think the best and most experienced doc would be doing a VIP pre-game injection and the risk should be very low.
Assuming they did a proper consent form and this doc had reasonable training with this procedure, hard to see how he/she could get in much trouble. Though of course the Chargers could still get a new team doctor if they want. Might make other players a bit reluctant to trust this doctor going forward, fairly or not.

Given how Hebert played, this is worst way to get Wally Pipp'd
Right the neurovasc bundle is just inferior to rub. Should have been very superficial at an oblique angleAny size needle can cause a pneumothorax, honestly there is some luck (or bad luck) involved. This study says 42% pneumothorax and 12% chest tube with lung biopsies. https://www.ajronline.org/doi/10.2214/AJR.09.3224
Honestly that sounds a bit high, I would have guessed 20-25%. Higher risk in lung cancer patients because many have emphysema though.
But either way, a needle going into the pleura (or beyond) is a risky thing to do. This should be a very superficial procedure under ultrasound guidance with visualization of the needle the entire time.
In a young thin patient there isn't a lot of tissue between the skin and the lung and clearly the doctor got a little careless.
I tend to agree, as long as the old "stashing players" gambit can be controlledSo, is there a good argument for not adopting the new injured reserve rules going forward? As a fan and someone who enjoys fantasy football, I think the 3-game minimum is a huge improvement, and found the old system to be overly-punishing. Does it simply come down to the owners not wanting to pay for replacement players more often over the course of the year?
Yea, not a very complicated injection but definitely not much room for error. I did a handful in fellowship but don’t do them in my regular practice. A pretty rare thing aside from competitive atheletes.Right the neurovasc bundle is just inferior to rub. Should have been very superficial at an oblique angle
Even my simple urology plumber brain could probably figure it out.Yea, not a very complicated injection but definitely not much room for error. I did a handful in fellowship but don’t do them in my regular practice. A pretty rare thing aside from competitive atheletes.
I’m stuck doing the occasional thoracentesis on call otherwise I don’t do anything with a pneumo risk. Definitely don’t do the lung biopsies anymore. I’m content to read my knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, ankle, and spine mris in peace
Apologies, I need to do something light in the middle of (vague gesturing)Meanwhile, until Taylor is cleared to play again, the Chargers backup quarterback is

If true than they deserve whatever the NFL throws at them. Suspensions, fines etc.
Pretty funny because the Ravens game was probably his best. Completed over 70% of his passes and didn't turn the ball over against tough D. Makes absolutely no sense to bench him. Either you figure out if he can be "the guy" or you don't. If he plays well, there you go. If he doesn't, you've put yourself in position to draft one of the QBs this year.Haskins has been benched, Kyle Allen to start for Washington. Twitter is not very happy about it.
Yeah, to me it looks logical to give Haskins a longer leash; he has only started 11 games in his career and he hasn't been a complete disaster (although he hasn't been very good either). That being said, we are not in practice every day or in the huddle and there could be a number of factors that Washington have seen with Haskins that make them okay with making the call. Rivera did coach Allen in Carolina so he might have more confidence in him.Pretty funny because the Ravens game was probably his best.
