Lol, Atkinson let them play on after everyone assumed he was going to stop it. Fornals to Bowen, West Ham lead Wolves.

NM, looks like it was a VERY quick FK (ie Fornals just ran up and kicked it as it was rolling away from the foul)

I’m not sold on City this season. Obviously they have enough quality to put anyone away in any given game but they seem on autopilot through chunks of the game sometimes. They miss Aguero and not just for the goals.
they are a bully team. when they play downhill and have a lead they look amazing, especially against a back 4-5 who struggle against press. But when City gets punched they fold up. they are just BAD in the bad and their midfielders don't help enough on the counter. they need an ELITE CHM or else they are vulnerable because teams have figured out that City just foul immediately on the counterand have adjusted

Sucks.. NBC is overbooking their channels with other sports so they can make people pay for soccer again.. or at least search for it.

edit: at least for now it's free I guess?.. ah it's on premium so 4.99 a month
edit2: with xfiniity or cox it's free
edit3: I'm stuck in an endless loop where I'm linked to my xfinity account, but it won't let me watch the game without starting a subscription, that I have with xfinity so it won't let me start the 7 day trial..which I supposedly get for free.

What is up with Liverpool gifting Arsenal free goals? It happened the last time they played too.

There was some discussion during last weeks game that Peacock was only the games that would have been on NBC Sports Gold. Clearly this game proves this is not the case. I wouldn't mind paying $1/month for Peacock, but paying $5 for all the NBC content, when I already pay for it all via my cable subscription is just crap.

And it’s a shit interface, too. Not being able to rewind & fast forward in 2020 is inexcusable.

That was not a competitive half of football and Arsenal are pretty fortunate to be only one down. All credit to Liverpool, who look very sharp and like they have a point to prove after the previous two matches against Arsenal (in which I thought they never really got into gear due to the absence of real stakes).

If nothing else, this matches provides a nice illustration of the total inadequacy of Arsenal's midfield options.

Yeah, this game has been extremely one-sided so far. Shot attempts are 11-1, possession is 69-31. If it weren't for Robertson's comical error, Arsenal wouldn't even have a shot attempt, let alone a goal.

I don't understand Arsenal's plan, they are sitting off Liverpool and letting Liverpool have the ball in midfield as much as they want, but they are also not playing a deep, compact low block. It's not clear what they are even trying to do.

My guess is that Arteta doesn't want to press high (which would leave us exposed) but wants to leave his forwards fairly high up the pitch, in order to theoretically pin back Liverpool's fullbacks since they're the main creators. Its not a bad plan but it requires being able to win the ball and transition it quickly and efficiently to said forwards, or otherwise there really isn't any danger in TAA and Robertson aggressively pushing up. And Arsenal have been totally incapable of progressing the ball in general, much less doing it quickly and efficiently.

If I'm Pool I'm delighted that Aubameyang is spending all his time waaay outside.

The longer LIverpool fail to get a third goal, the greater the odds of Arsenal getting one of those dumb VAR handball penalties becomes.

If I’m an Arsenal or Spurs fan, after I kill myself in shame I’d be ripshit about that non-call. All weekend we saw that go against the defense, it has to go against Pool there.

West Ham playing a 4-2-3-1 with Mark Noble and Robert Snodgrass, both 33, and 2 of the slowest players in the PL as the 2... it's going as you'd expect.

Leno MotM and it ain't even close. Wilson looked like he was bricking his pants before even taking the kick, and Origi's effort was pretty tame. Adrian nearly saved the final Willock penalty but it squeezed through.

Oh well
