Top-pairing guy who can slide in on d-pair 2, and plays all special teams.

The PSKs select D Darnell Nurse

Svechnikov - Seguin - Kucherov
----------------- - Cirelli - Smith
----------------- - Nelson - --------------

Josi - Ellis
Ekholm - Nurse

Cap picture:
Seguin ($9.85m)
Kucherov ($9.5m)
Ellis ($6.25m)
Nelson ($6.0m)
Smith ($5.0m)
Josi ($4.0m this year, then $9.059m)
Ekholm ($3.75m)
Nurse ($3.2m this year, then $5.6m)
Svechnikov ($0.925m)
Cirelli ($0.728m)

Total cap hit: $49.2m this year, growing to at least $56.7m. Looks like some tougher choices on the road to $81.5m

Everyone is doing their own thing. Haunted is looking for Mikes. Felix is looking for tall dudes. You are looking for assholes. Some of us are seeing if we can be cap compliant.
Pretty much. One of my constraints is gonna be to see if I can extend Cirelli / Svechnikov or if I'd have to trade... Seguin

I am basically building a fantasy lineup, with a scent of apathy involved (I think of people, google them, and if they are available, I stop thinking and pick). But, it also shows how I like to build teams (strong defense, strong at center, strong in net), so on that end it does show something about how I would build a team.

It shocks absolutely no one that PSK, the cap wizard of SoSH, would draft a cap compliant team.

I would love to throw these teams into NHL 20 somehow, but I have no idea how to do that, nor do I have time.

This guy isn't enough of a dirtbag to fit seamlessly on my team, but he has some size, skates well, and is an ice-time horse. We're in this to win it so we'll go with a some skill now and fill out with some more dirtbags later. Plus as the St Louis Blues taught us last year, it's easier to coach up douchebaggery than skill. I really need defensemen but can’t pass up this 30 goal scorer and his sweet swede mullet. Rickard Rakell, RW, ANA
I don't get what happened to this guy. I get that the 2016-17 shooting percentage was probably unsustainable, but he went from 11.8, 18.6, and 14.8 over three years, to 9.3 and 8.1 the last two. Has he just been stuck with much worse talent around him recently?

Obviously the key to a cup winning lineup is to have as many Minnesota Wild players on your team as possible so we're going to triple down here. This guy is a dynamic offensive D who put up 50 points recently. Skates well, hits, flashy in the Ozone - maybe a little reckless at times but with that top pair our gambling second pair is going to overwhelm team's second line. Also - we're spending too much money so we may just abandon that salary cap.

RHD - Matt Dumba - Minnesota Wild

Fiala (3.0)-Barkov (5.9)-Meier (6.0)
Kreider (4.6)-Larkin (6.1)-Reinhart (3.65)

Hedman (7.87) - Spurgeon ($7.57)
Reilly (5.0)-Dumba (6)
Xxx-xxx

Carter Hart (.730)

Cap number - $56.42
remaining space - 24.58
Roster spots remaining - 9
Avg cap hit remaining - $2.73m

Cap hell, here we come. Better get that TV money quick. I was fortunate to grab two really good 2 way centers who can PK and match up for my first and second lines so I can afford to add a guy that doesn't really play much PK for the third line center. He's a pretty slick playmaker with a first round pedigree. He's a weapon offensively playing on a third line. He was on pace to complete his second 50 point season before the world burned down. A 24 year old, pass first playmaking center on the third line seems like a great fit

C - Nick Schmaltz - Arizona Coyotes

Fiala (3.0)-Barkov (5.9)-Meier (6.0)
Kreider (4.6)-Larkin (6.1)-Reinhart (3.65)
Xxx-Schmaltz (5.8)-xxx

Reilly (5.0)-Dumba (6)

Carter Hart (.730)

Cap number - $62.22
remaining space - $19.28
Roster spots remaining - 8

I thought a lot about Garland at the end of last round but I have some concerns about Center depth coming back so I'm glad you took the winger.
I had the same concerns but ultimately went with Garland for the goal scoring upside, and also I have some position versatility in my forward group. I have Stamkos penciled in for RW1 but could always play him at C2 and drop Marchessault to C3 if there are no centers that I like and I have to take two wings.

Ah yes. I have less versatility. Good pick.

It coincides with the decline of Getzlaf, who he plays most of his minutes with, and Perry leaving, who was his other usual linemate. His xG numbers do suggest he's not finishing nearly as well as he used to though. Whether that's luck, a decline in skill, xG missing something, or all of the above, who knows. But it is interesting.

I need to get some more youth on the team. This player stepped right into the NHL without an apprenticeship in the AHL and has more than held his own. He's shown a little choppiness and I think we can work on getting more of that. Averaging about a PIM per game is a good start. I think he'll fill out my second pairing quite nicely. Between here and everywhere.
No one wants a big bodied, 23 year old, 20/20 right winger for their team?

I mean, I guess I'll take JAKE VIRTANEN, RW, VANCOUVER for myself then.

Alex Debrincat (5.1) / Elias Pettersson (925) / Mitch Marner (10.893)
Max Domi (3.150) / Charlie Coyle (5.25) / Jake Virtanen (1.25)

Sticking with making the blue line and offense from defense as the focal points of this team, had to take a swing at one of the biggest prospects in the game, especially given his ELC. Nearly 1 PPG as a 20 year old in the AHL, albeit with a slower start in his first 33 NHL games.

The PSKs select D Erik Brännström

Svechnikov - Seguin - Kucherov
----------------- - Cirelli - Smith
----------------- - Nelson - --------------

Josi - Ellis
Ekholm - Nurse
Brannström - ----------------

Cap picture:

Brännström ($0.863m)
Cirelli ($0.728m)

Total cap hit: $50.1m this year, growing to at least $57.5m
