If the Pats strength of schedule ends up being anywhere near 7th easiest next season, I'll eat a log of my own shit. I think everyone is too easy to forget how much better the rest of the AFC East was over the 2nd half of last season. In the last 8 games of the regular season last year, the Pats, Bills and Miami all went 4-4 and the Jets went 6-2. All 3 of those teams have gotten better, and the Pats have gotten significantly worse (IMO, by choice, which is fine by me). Add in the Rams, Seattle, Houston, KC, SF, and Baltimore....

Plus all of the fucking travel across the country?

Yeah, I'll say it again, the bet of the century is the Pats under 8.5 wins.
The AFC East was still quite bad over the 2nd half. The out of division wins for MIA and NYJ were: LV, NYG, WAS, PHI, IND (with Hoyer), PIT (Hodges), CIN. The overall performances were still very bad.

I think all those teams are better, and I think the Patriots are worse. On the other hand, other than maybe BUF (a lot rides on Allen) those teams are still bad

I've never seen much value in determining this season's strength of schedule based off last season's performances.

It makes more sense to me to determine a team's schedule strength based on how the opponents were playing up to the point where they face the Patriots.

Exactly. The Patriots and Packers both played the Chiefs last year. Patrick Mahomes only played in one of those games. But it counts the same in strength of schedule.

Playing the Dolphins in week 2 was a lot different than week 17 as well.

Just looking at the first four games at first glance as we have a sense they are playing the NFC West......playing the defending NFC champs, a very good Seattle team on the road, and a tough defense for a first year starting QB to face in the Rams in 3 of those is not exactly an easy start. It's certainly possible the Rams aren't as good as in the past and the Cardinals are better. But, it's safe to assume the 49ers and Seahawks will present tough tests.

A schedule that has this many WC trips(plus trips to KC and Houston which aren't short) and features the two best teams in football will be hard by any measure. But, the fun part is seeing how it plays out.

The frontloaded NFC part is false, FYI. They might play them early on as a coincidence but it won't all be the first four weeks.

I know there was a fake Twitter account saying it earlier, but I was going off of what John Clayton said on Pittsburgh radio today. It makes sense since these games are the least important to each team's schedule and could be slashed if there is a shortened season.

We should start seeing some dates and times leak out this morning at some point, correct? I seem to remember having most of the schedule prior to the official release most years.

I happen to agree with you. I just wanted to ask, where on SoSH do we formally document these things?
