Yeah, this is absolutely fantastic for the Bruins Rask/Halak is pretty much the best duo in hockey.

Awesome deal. Love having the best goalie tandem in the league.

I figured next year was going to be the time to bring one of the prospects up, seeing as Tuukka has indicated the possibility of him retiring after his current deal is up is a thing. I think this pretty clearly shows that the front office is all in on the next couple years with this core, though, so I am interested to see what happens now with Keyser and Vladar, as this may make one of them more moveable.

With the uncertainty around the cap next season it makes sense for him to take a discount to get under contract. It’s a great deal, I was expecting him to get $4-$5 million from someone next year. Now Vlader and Swayman can split time and develop in Providence. Win-Win.

Maybe Tuukka is hanging them up with a year to go?

btw, Globe says the bump is $1.5 million if he plays ten games

Glad they’re keeping Halak in the fold. CapFriendly still has the bonus listed at $1.25 million. Matty Porter tweeted 1.25 million yesterday - wonder whether the Globe article is in error or if he got updated info.

With Krejci and Rask coming off the book in 2 years they can afford pushing the bonus out. Carlo, Kase, and Ritchie come due there so they’ll get raises likely but nothing top of market.
