Schefter: Text from a participant on the NFL’s mock draft that started at 1 pm EST. “Mock draft today already technical glitch w Cincinnatis 1st pick!!! Brutal.”

I'm not one to defend the NFL, but making a big deal out of a mock draft implemented to find issues and glitches, finding issues and glitches is stupid.

I'm surprised and glad that the NFL is actually testing everything out days in advance.

I'd be surprised if this was their first test. And sounds like they'll need a few more. Not a big deal.

Still I'll be expecting a few issues come draft time. Makes me more excited to watch than usual.

Now of course there are actual glitches even with the regular draft. Like when the Vikings dropped a couple of slots early in the first round because they didn’t get their card in on time. But I suppose in this situation if you screw up you just blame Comcast.

I posted this in a certain slack channel today but I want to broaden in. I don't think the Patriots like Tua or Love. I think neither is on their boards. I am so sick and tired of these worthless talking heads who have NEVER been right about the Pats in the draft talking about this shit.

So here's the deal. If the Pats draft Tua or Jordan Love I will donate $100 to the Jimmy Fund. Personally it's a hard pass on either. I love Tua the college player but his injuries scare me and Love's vision, ability to read the field, and decision making are abysmal. I feel like I am going to have a meltdown.

Yannick Ngakoue and Tony Khan are also openly feuding back and forth on twitter. Tweets are in the article but not a good look for either of them, to say the least.

Yannick's points might be better received if he wrote in proper English and not street slang that Tony Khan probably only half-understands, at best.

If you want to get through to the white billionaire, you have to speak like the white billionaire.

I feel like Tua is on their board in the abstract, he seems a good fit. I also think they have no interest in what it would take to move to a position to take him though.
Love I don't get tying to the Pats at all, everything about Love's profile and where you'd have to draft him seems like a bad fit for what Bill likes to do. Hurts at the end of the 3rd... sure I can see that. One of the myriad of 3rd tier guys in the 5th-7th... absolutely. But a raw inaccurate turnover-prone QB at 23?

Tony Khan is decidedly not white. He's also a 37 year old who runs a pro-wrestling organization. He understands fine, he just doesn't care. Yannick wants to be traded so he can get paid, Khan won't trade him unless he gets a good deal. Yannick thinks being a PITA on twitter will get him somewhere, Khan is replying to let him know he doesn't care.

Neither party comes across well here, but I think Khan comes across much worse. He's supposed to be the leader in this situation. Condescendingly sniping back at a player is terrible form and poor leadership. If a player starts barking on twitter, you talk to them offline. You don't respond on twitter.

Fair point, but he doesn't come from the same background as Yannick and is less likely to understand the subtleties in the dialogue.

Been involved in the wrestling biz too long and is cutting Twitter promos. It's not a good look but it won't hurt him in the long run.

Agreed. Yannick was picking a fight to try to get some resolution. You simply can’t take that bait, particularly because it shines more light on a disgruntled player when you’re presumably busy trying to maximize your return in a trade.

5 looks like the Rams but these are otherwise fantastic. The home with the white pants could be a top 5 in the league.

if there’s no NFL season how is the 2021 draft order resolved? Would guys like Lawrence be available? Because isn’t the rule that you need to be 3 years out of HS?

He would be 3 years out of HS. Not 3 *seasons*, but 3 *years*.

Are you saying that 2020 will vanish? As far as I know Eric Swann got drafted without ever setting foot on a college football field. So I would expect Lawrence to be the #1 pick in ‘21 regardless of whether or not there’s a college football season.

I’m asking if Cincy gets the #1 pick the year after drafting Joe Burrow if there’s no season.

The rest was window dressing around my main point.

I can't see that happening. They might have to do a one year lottery. They'd also have to decide whether contracts count for that year.

Can you IMAGINE the ratings for a complete NFL draft lottery?

I'm trying to imagine how amazing the ratings for the draft are going to be tomorrow. The first anything live/sports related worth watching in two months. Is there any guy in America who won't watch at this point?

It'll be interesting to see that ratings since it's being shown on ABC as well as usual carriers ESPN and NFLN.

Pats wore the color rush uniforms more than once last year.
Yes they did. They also didn't have 5 other permutations and were gauging interest to adapt them to full time status.

I'm going to go ahead and guess that a southern CA team isn't going to go navy on navy a whole heck of a lot of times over the course of 8 games, but the equipment managers will have my Ts&Ps.
