That Vince Carter quip got me, bravo.

I wonder if prior stadium bookings over the summer complicate the idea of resuming the season or potentially the playoffs too depending how long this goes.

So, Darryl Morey insults China and in response they start a global pandemic that cancels the NBA season. China is playing 4D chess right now.

It's absolutely because I'm a shell of a human being, but my life has become much more unbearable knowing this, and what's sure to follow with baseball and the tourney.

I stared out the window, waiting for spring, only to find it all to be a season cancelled. Fucking hell.
I already am starting to feel a full body itch that can’t be scratched.

Do the Celtics refund the games I will miss from my season ticket package?

How will this affect over/under betting for wins for the season. The unders will be looking strong if they don't take the action off the board and refund bets.

When LeBron said last week that he wasn't playing if fans weren't allowed in the arena, I admired what he said. However, I'd rather watch a game played with no fans than not see NBA basketball.

They cannot go forward with that game is my guess as it hasnt started.

And yeah, this may end up killing the NBA season unless it gets resolved in fairly short order. As was noted in the main thread in V&N, its highly likely that a lot more players will show up with this thing. The style of play as well as how closely these guys play, practice, travel and socialize together seem like a great way for this thing to spread unchecked.

I can’t get ESPN stream to work but I hope the Dallas fans give one hell of a standing ovation at the end of the game. Quite possibly the last game we’ll see until October. God that hurts to write.

I just saw video of the postponement of the OKC-Jazz game, with coaches from both teams huddling with refs and a team doctor. Probably not a good idea to have your face two feet away from Utah coaches, with the positive COVID-19 test of Gobert.

So no NBA and no live poker tournaments for me until further notice. I need to find some new, social distancing friendly hobbies.

All jokes aside: this is what video games are for.

I had to quit gaming cold turkey years ago because it was just too addictive for me, but this is exactly the sort of apocalyptic shit required to get me to revisit them for a time. Plus: these days, games are legit spectator sports, too, so if you just want to turn your brain off and watch people who are really good at something compete, you can.

A lot of my family members were at Bs TB the night after Jazz-C’s. I’m nervous.
Unless they made contact with someone who was in the lockerroom you're probably fine. Far more likely to get it from some rando who touched something you touched at the supermarket or gas station, or the T.

Spring fever is going to be a doozie this year.

It's not exactly a new hobby for most of us, but I expect that SoSH traffic will skyrocket.

I just can't believe it was Gobert, after the microphone touching thing. It's just so unbelievable.

I predict a 500% increase in SoSH posts over the next couple of months.

And then the Coronavirus will spread to computers and we'll all be fucked.

Edit: Fucking Sprowl beat me to it.

As someone who has recently gotten really into live poker over the last few months, this.
depending on where you live and if you're into crypto at all there are sites you can play on relatively safely from within the united states, but they're nothing like what we used to have and it's so sad as someone that used to be an online pro

off topic to nba i know

Don't follow NBA at all. Any idea how Gobert came in contact with it?
he thought wiping his hand on reporter microphones and recorders that had just been used on Monday was a good idea (confirmed that this happened, not that he didn't necessarily have it before that)

So 10 teams are now potentially exposed to the virus after Gobert. The teams the Jazz played over the last 10 days, then the opponents of the teams that played the Jazz.
1/3 of the NBA.

F Rudy Gobert. Sucks to hear this upon leaving a gorgeous night of baseball and seeing our new ace in Port Charlotte

There better be a playoffs or I'm kicking some puppies

Its almost impossible to know how many players are exposed but I bet way more than we know. Heck, Steph Curry has been out with the "flu" the past few days after playing his first game since the start of the season. We also don't know who gave Gobert the virus - it could have been a Celtic for all we know. Again, watch these guys interact with everyone on the court from the opposing players to the refs to coaches, trainers etc. The way basketball is played strikes me as an ideal way for a virus to spread widely.

That said, if anyone in the NBA can get the virus out of its game, its Scott Foster. I have Foster money versus coronavirus.
