I’m a Cerrone fan but he is hittable. If Conor hits him....that’s it. If Cowboy come to wrassle he has a shot. Your bet seems to assume he will be smart enough to attempt this and skilled enough to pull it off, I hope he his.

Heart: Cerrone
Head: Drunk by KO

edit: I just looked at the full card. This is a terrible event.

If Cowboy's smart, he'll keep Conor busy through the first couple rounds and wait for him to inevitably tire like he always does.

Unfortunately, I think he'll fall for whatever macho posturing Conor uses to lure him into a fistfight in a phone booth and get knocked out.

Neither of them move their head much or have great defense, but Conor hits harder and is better working an angle.

Absolutely

Absolutely. Plus Cowboy is a slow starter. If he plays it smart, fights long, and throws a lot of leg kicks that's he path to a W.

And he's said a few times this week that he intends to stand and bang with McGregor. That could be gamesmanship, but he seems pretty sincere. But yeah, his chin is not good, with or without Conor's power. McGregor also has fairly good takedown defense, or at least he used to.

One thing I'm curious about is that his recently released clip of him sparring show him using a peek-a-boo boxing style. Is he really going to employ this? Has his 1-bout boxing career gone to his head? What is he thinking moving to an untested approach when he's had so much practice and success with his old stance? His ability to dart in and out, maintaining distance while getting in his quick strikes was key to a lot of his victories.

Excited to see Barber fight again. She looks promising (and incidentally has the ego and mouth of an early-career Conor).

On purpose, I'm sure.

Dana knows people will buy this card regardless of the undercard. Save the better fights for an event with a less desirable headline.
Exactly. But it still worked on me. But I'll pretty much get any UFC PPV if I'm home, which I am.

I think McGregor knocks him out in the 2nd

I guess. I can’t believe they want $65 for this. I was going to steal it or watch it at a bar regardless, but damn.

That’s what I’m doing. I’m not going to pay that amount and waiting for it at a bar. My bar bill will probably be less than the $65, and truly my challenge is remaining sober until the main fight at 12 midnight.

Flipside - Conor fights can be kinda annoying to watch at a bar sober.

I'm watching prelims, but won't get the main card.

I'd love to see Cerrone pull it out, but unless CM half-assed his training camp, which I doubt, I agree with everyone who thinks that Cowboy will play macho and get caught.

Maybe Cowboy catches Conor with a head kick first. That would be cool.

I almost don't want to watch the Barber-Modafferi fight.

The only thing elite about Roxanne is her sunny disposition. Nice story though.

Barber is not good

She went out there, ate some shots, got taken down, gave up a bunch of positions and got lucky that Roxanne went for mount.

Shit. I kinda wanted to put a little bit of money on Roxanne simply because of the odds and inexperience of Barber, but didn't. I do like Macey though, and there's still lots of time.

I wonder if Barber trains jiu jitsu with men because her game seems predicated on being stronger and that is rare for women grapplers (because most of them come up training against bigger men).

Not sure why Roxanne bothered to take her down. Barber cannot even put any pressure on that leg.

Barber got schooled, but I liked the fight in her after the injury. Seems like the kind of person who will learn a lot from this.

I disagree. Roxanne has been dominating the grappling and the most likely way she could lose is a lucky KO.
I see it the other way. Really tough to knock someone out if you: (a) don't have a leg to push off of for power, and (b) can't move around. On the other hand, she could have gotten a submission.

Barber's young. She'll learn a lot more from this loss than if she had won.

Edit: I realize how trite that is, but I guess I mean she'll get more out of it than most. The hype train was strong with her, and the I think the risk of her believing her own BS was high.

Was watching some pre-Diaz Conor fights today. That fighter is likely gone, and it's a shame. I forgot that he had such an incredible arsenal of accurate kicks which helped him manage distance and set up his knockout punches. Would be cool to see him prove me wrong.

Brady in attendance! Must by boys night out.
Big cheer for him!

If the devil came to me and said I could own the Raiders, but I’d have to have Mark Davis’ haircut the rest of my life, I’d obviously say yes, but I’d think about it for a second.

Absolutely no, but I do not have a cocaine habit
