In more depressing news Chara looks really really old out there. I hope this isn’t the year it all catches up to him finally.

Short offseason where he dealt with several injuries can’t be good for a 42 year old.

I know he’s not the type to do it, but I really hope they can convince him of some “load management” where gets nights off during the regular season. They have the depth to do it. Some goes for Bergy.

Situation room: “we’re looking at it”
Ref: “it’s preseason, do we really want to do this?”

Cassidy says they don’t believe the Krejci injury is serious but they’ll know more tomorrow.

Thought it was largely a good night for the vets. 63 & 88 seem ready to go. I didn’t really see much out of Ritchie, think I’d start him off as a healthy scratch. Backes was bleh.

Vaakanainen struggled, but I thought Zboril was solid. Clifton was Clifton, the action always seems to find him. Lauko got buried at 5x5, but made his one rush count. They’ll have to work with him on rounding out his game.

Thought Bjork and Frederic were their best skaters. Maybe Shen too, he had a nice rush for a scoring chance.

It's preseason. Against half a team. Playing maybe half a team.
But they looked pretty good I thought.

I know preseason games are a joke to begin with. But this is an utter waste of time. Why would they schedule Chicago for a game when their whole team is in Europe?

What I really want to see in this farce of a game is Brad Marchand fighting. How fucking dumb.

Aren't there rules about how many "nhl" players a team has to play in each preseason game or something like that? Who thought this was a good idea? And why did I have to pay full price for a ticket for it?

I think they waive the vet requirement for teams traveling overseas. Paying full freight for any preseason game is definitely a farce. They do it because they can and that’s about it. Money grab.
