I’m wondering how he reacts after some time to think.

At least according to him, this was his dream situation. And he blew it in mere days.

That’s gotta leave a mark.

Ok well back to the team that beat the Steelers by 30. It was worth the risk. Didn’t work out, he got cut, adios. Love on. No biggie. Losing the $$ hurts but isn’t too big a deal.

Such a stupid, stupid man. Would have loved to see this battlestation fully operational, but glad I don't have to root for him. I imagine the Pats know some stuff we don't yet.

Edit: Nice thread title, E5

Million dollar arm, five cent head as the movie put it.

This seems to up the chance of seeing Harry back on the field this year, and likely means more Meyers in the short term.

Yeah time for him to do some serious self reflection.

Can't wait for the next BB presser: "I only discuss the players on our team"

Possible they knew that an exempt list decision was coming and they wanted to get out in front of it? Or possible that Bill walked out of that press conference and said fuck this I've got a really good team and this is not my cup of tea. Or they have some reason to think they have a chance to get cap relief or whatever else might be possible.

Here
We’ll see how much love he has if the Pats try to recoup some money. It’s possible his contacting the second accuser has given them a narrow opening.

The latest matter was a bridge too far for him - they didn't want to play around with the almost daily distraction. BB was not about to answer questions on a daily basis about AB. I think but for the lawsuit/text, he would have been an excellent addition to the team and toed the party line.

Does he get a ring?

Good timing on my post from an hour ago where I said 10-20% chance he gets cut!

Didn't he have that odd contractual term saying he couldn't do anything post signing that puts the team, the organization, etc. in a bad light? I'd say threatening the artist qualifies.

Holy smokes, I go on a business trip for a few days and the whole operation turns to shit.

Good thing he was on his best behavior while he was here, would hate to see him at his worst.

He caused more problems in a short span than all the other problem children combined over much longer spans. I hope they learn something from this.

deep inside Guido territory
The texts to the painting girl was when he was a Patriot so it shows the Krafts and BB that he can't be trusted to keep on the straight and narrow. I never wanted this guy on the team and am glad he's gone.

It should have been obvious that sending the text messages to an accuser would only cause problems. I can understand why that's a bridge too far for the team. Team rules exist for a reason.

Oh shit, now they’re screwed for the Jets game. /sarcasm

But, yes, I think if it had been “just” the civil case against him he would have remained on the team. The text messages to the accuser may have put them over the edge or, as others have noted, it’s very possible the Pats know something else is coming (criminal charges, more accusations, etc.).

He was due $5 million of his signing bonus on Monday.
Isn't he still due that money? Someone (I'm guessing either the NFL or a judge) is going to have to make a ruling that he violated the conduct clause for the Patriots to not owe that to him. The biggest question to me is how quickly we'll get that ruling from the NFL as that'd be a nice chunk of money to use to go after Trent Williams.

where I was last at
How much distraction/bad publicity was he worth to a $4 billion business?

Did anyone really want to see the disaster du jour this guy was bringing.

He was just not worth it.

It is blindingly self-evident to everyone that the man is as self-aware and has the introspective powers of a clam. The fact that you think he will 'think' about this is only explainable by the fact that you still also take religion seriously, in some cases you just suspend belief in reality.
