I've always like A's.
I'd be happy if Tito can win one with Cleveland.
Twins are just too unlikely and frustrating from their ineptitude against the MFY's for years....
I used to like the Rays but they've become too good and their fans don't deserve them.
I live in ATX and Houston fans have suddenly emerged out of nowhere the last few days and they're a bunch of assholes. Go A's!

I have liked the As for forever, because I love the way they do so much with so little money. If they were to win it all, I'd be almost as happy as if the Sox won it. The Rays are somewhat similar in that way. It's not the players' fault their stadium and fan-base are below par.

I'd love to see the Rays win. It will be interesting to see if anyone shows up over there if they advance or get close.

Houston though looks pretty unstoppable in the AL and Roberts has been out-managed in enough World Series games to possibly have figured out how to do it by now. It's likely to be HOU v. LAD World Series with LAD finally breaking through. I don't think NYY can beat HOU in a seven game series.

I hesitate to check "anybody but the Yankees" because I really don't want to see Houston win. The series with them last season brought something out (most likely my own pettiness) of me. Bregman is annoying and their fans came across on twitter as pretty obnoxious. But I would have thought that about any team we played. If it's a HOU/NY ALCS you can guarantee I'll be a Houston fan.

Indians or Rays would be good with me.

I voted for the A's; always loved their uniforms, the white cleats complete the ensemble. Liked them in the 1970's, talk about a loaded team before Finley had a fire sale and gutted the team, the 80's version with the bash brothers were fun to watch, that home run Canseco hit in Toronto should be landing anytime soon.

Would love to see a team with a $912.00 payroll that plays in the worst stadium in MLB win the World Series.

Indians. While I'd be fine if all of Ohio sinks into the Erie Ocean, I have a soft spot for hard-luck franchises (and Tito). It'd be nice to see them finally win.

After that, I'd be happy to see LA and Roberts break through.

Everything is filler until the Yankees/Astros ALCS. The wild card game will be a waste of time and the AL central winning Twins will be puppy chow for either NY or Houston. So since it will come down to Houston or NY, I go Houston. I like Grienke and want to see him win one.

I like rooting for underdogs so I went with the Twins. Plus, a good friend of mine, who is one of the only real baseball fans I know in Wyoming, is a die hard Twins fan.

I’m basically a child and voted for “no one if not us.” I’ve had athletes on other teams I’ve liked — such as Drew Brees — but never a non-Boston team that I sort of liked.

But...I will be rooting hard for every team, and hopefully it’s only one, who plays the Yankees. This particular MFY team is not particularly hateful but their fans (outside this board of course!) remain totally insufferable and that’s good enough for me to gin up a rooting interest.

Twins here. They beat the MFYs AL home run record, now finish 'em out.
FWIW (not much), the Yankees have made a huge push here in the last month and are currently tied with MIN at 276 team homers, MIN has 18 games left to NY's 16.

I voted Twins; they hit a lot of homers and are a generally fun team; plus who doesn't love the Woonsocket Rocket?

The Astros recently won, but I like the team in general although I might still be scarred from Ron Darling fawning over Bregman. Verlander is just an amazing pitcher and Altuve might be my favorite non-Red Sox player.

I vote (probably futile) for the Tribe because of Tito & they haven't won in forever. Realistically, Houston. Seems like a good bunch & a real forward thinking organization.

Anyone but the MFY's should be a forgone conclusion.

I really want the Astros to win it. Good group of guys.
This is where I'm at. I'd say Indians but only for Tito and Lindor. Their front office and ticket office are filled with schmucks.
Hell no for MFY
Hell no for Rays (partly because of the park and not understanding their clientele (old people with cash))
No for A's (1988-1990, park)
No for Twins (Cruz, and splitting Ft. Myers with them, Minnesota Nice is really a true thing, 2nd rudest people in the Midwest after Chicago)

I'm ok with them having 2 this millenium since we have 4.

As one of maybe two Tribe fans here, I'm obviously rooting (hopelessly) for them. Otherwise, I'm not really an Astros fan, but I have no desire to root for the Twins, Rays or A's either, so if my season isn't going to end happily, I hope Houston just makes a mockery of everyone in their path.

How do you feel about teams that do so little with so much money?

That's where my head is on this. Tito, sure, but I mostly default to pulling for the team that has the longest suffering fanbase. I remember how amazing and transformative 2004 was; I like it when other fans can feel that way too.

(Though if they put Chief fucking Wahoo on any of their playoff merchandise, I might slide to next longest suffering fanbase among AL contenders, which is...the A's, I guess.)

I could deal with Houston winning if Bregman goes 0 for the postseason.
This is where I’m at. I voted “nobody” for now. Mostly my own pettiness.

No to the Yankees for obvious reasons. Fuck them.
I love Tito, but still have a lot of dislike for Cleveland from back in 1995-1999.
I just can’t take the Twins seriously, and they’ve always disappointed us whenever they had the chance to do something beautiful.
Astros won recently, at our expense, and screw Bregman.
I still hate the Devil Rays because of Joe Maddon, Gerald Williams, the Daubach attacks, and Tropicana Field. I hope they go back to being perennial 100 game losers.
With Oakland, I only have one real reason to root against them. Eric Byrnes. But I also have zero reason to actively root for them.

But whatever. I just hope someone embarrassed the Yankees.

I chose the Rays because they've been so good under some bad circumstances. I would pick Houston but I can't root for Roberto Osuna.

You can always root for Houston to reach the World Series and then lose in Game #7 in such a dramatic way that it ruins the rest of Osuna's life.

When I saw that, it reminded me of Donnie Moore. I don't think I'd want it to go that far. I'll stick with Tampa. Like Dave Roberts, Kevin Cash also helped the Sox win a championship.

It's hard not to have some hate for every AL team. The team I hate least is probably the Royals because...they're the Royals. Out of the remaining group, if the Yankees were eliminated, it becomes an "anybody but Houston" mentality for me. Watching them lose brings me joy after the 2017 ALCS.

You know, you all are welcome to root for the Yankees.

It's fun rooting for MVP candidate DJ LeMahieu, Gio Urshela, Luke Voit and the gang.
Oh we root for the Yankees.

To lose, to get injured, to be humiliated, to get their identities stolen, to get violent food poisoning, to be subjected to Kilgore's book, to be stuck in an elevator with DH3, to fail drug tests, to be covered in pigeon shit, to get weird looking rashes, and to lose again.

Well, the rooting for the Yankees to get injured has really been working this year.

Cleveland had LeBron. Oakland has Curry. “Long suffering” my ass.

Plus Chief Wahoo is an abomination.
Go Twins.
