This is so much better than I could have expected. Mingo wasn't expected to make the team, so that's a freebie AND gets $4.1M off the cap with only $1.1M dead money. Martin has shown a little bit of potential, but Clowney is a massive upgrade. If they don't sign him to a deal, they'l still get a pick relatively close to the pick they are giving up.Clowney for 2020 3rd rounder, LB Mingo & Jacob Martin.
My god, what a fleece job in favor of Seattle. If Clowney walks, a high comp pick too.
Caserio's butterfly effect continues.
I think a lot of that has to do with Clowney refusing a trade to MIA and forcing his way to SEA or PHI. HOU had little to no leverage. This is so much better than I could have expected. Mingo was the 7th highest cap charge on the team this year. Huge plus to clear him alone. Schneider is a fucking magician.
Be that as it may, here's a summary of the offseason per a tweet by Aaron Levine , the local sports director in Seattle for Fox.I think a lot of that has to do with Clowney refusing a trade to MIA and forcing his way to SEA or PHI. HOU had little to no leverage.
John Schneider began this offseason with four draft picks and Frank Clark and ended it with 11 draft picks (including three in the first two rounds) and Jadeveon Clowney.
They did an excellent job, there is no doubt about it.Be that as it may, here's a summary of the offseason per a tweet by Aaron Levine , the local sports director in Seattle for Fox.
Matt Dolloff had this to say back in March:View: https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1167888415909502976
Pats need to be all over this guy. Perfect depth guy for this team.
He could be this year's Mingo.Matt Dolloff had this to say back in March:
"DE Noah Spence, Buccaneers
2019 Salary: $1,273,132
Originally drafted 39th overall in 2016 out of Eastern Kentucky, Spence is practically a bust at this point. Though he's dealt with injuries during his career, he hasn't come close to panning out as an edge rusher. However he did flash some playmaking as a rookie with 5.5 sacks, 12 QB hits, and 3 forced fumbles. Todd Bowles is about to switch the Tampa defense to 3-4, which makes Spence less of a fit. The Patriots and new defensive coordinator Greg Schiano have recently favored 4-3 in base looks, so Spence is a perfect opportunity for Belichick to get an expendable young pass-rusher for next-to-nothing and try to tap into his potential."

Any chance he becomes a PS possibility for the Patriots?Falcons cut Etling.
Schiano is gone and the 4-3 is being put on the back burner, yes?He could be this year's Mingo.
If Hoyer truly departs, it seems likely there will be a QB on the PS.Any chance he becomes a PS possibility for the Patriots?
They'll play multiple fronts this season. His traits are hard to teach and I'd trust the Pats to get something out of him. See if they can sneak him onto the P-squad at the very least.Schiano is gone and the 4-3 is being put on the back burner, yes?
O'B giving away the store to try and save his job(s).Texans are in a mood today.
Over/under for Sodjen being banned from those game threads is about 7.5 minutes.Pats may get 10 sacks a game against the Dolphins.
Hopefully the Dolphins are so bad this year that the Pats can win in Miami for once.Pats may get 10 sacks a game against the Dolphins.
Clowney didn’t want to go there and would not sign his franchise tender if he was traded there.Dolphins couldn’t get Clowney but trade Tunsil anyway?
VincentVegaMotioningInEmptyRoom.GIFDolphins couldn’t get Clowney but trade Tunsil anyway?
Wasn’t there an article saying the Dolphins would revolt if Tunsil was traded? And that was for Clowney, not picks.Dolphins couldn’t get Clowney but trade Tunsil anyway?
So you're saying the Patriots have a shot of winning the game in Miami this year then?Pats may get 10 sacks a game against the Dolphins.
Tunsil kept parking his Mercedes in the Coach's reserved spot. One thing that seems pretty clear: Flores didn’t think much of the culture he inherited.
On paper Tunsil is a key building block but obvious the team didn’t think so
As noted above, O'B knows he is running out of runway in Houston.WTF is Houston thinking? They're trading 2 1sts and a 2nd for Tunsil/Stills?????
This was before today's trade, but after Clowney went to the seahawksWasn’t there an article saying the Dolphins would revolt if Tunsil was traded? And that was for Clowney, not picks.
Holy crap that seems like one hell of an overpay.Texans are trading this year's 1st and next year's 1st and 2nd, Johnson Bademosi, and Julian Davenport to Miami for Tunsil, Stills, this year's 4th, and next year's 6th.

Nick Caserio should rethink his Houston plans going forward. YikesTexans are trading this year's 1st and next year's 1st and 2nd, Johnson Bademosi, and Julian Davenport to Miami for Tunsil, Stills, this year's 4th, and next year's 6th.
The GIF game in the new responses to that tweet there is pretty strong right nowThis was before today's trade, but after Clowney went to the seahawks

WR Tom Kennedy from Detroit. He went to Bryant University and played lacrosse for 3 years as an undergrad. He wanted to play football during his grad year. Had great numbers at Bryant. The only scout at his pro day was a Patriots scout (kind of obvious). Here are the moves by the Titans and Lions, with whom the Patriots held joint practices. Wonder if anyone here caught NE's eye:
