lolWith a name like that, why can't he just rep himself?
We have a lot of mediocre young TEs on the roster, why sign more? That was always the issue with people wanting to draft a TE, there were arguably only 2 TEs in this draft who were likely to be significant improvements on what we have (maybe 3 if you stretch?) and they were going to be gone by our 1st round pick, so why bother when you have several NFL quality TEs already? Here come WRs and Guards. Going to be hilarious if they don’t sign TEs
Bob Kraft as well. With a name like that, why can't he just rep himself?
One of the strengths listed in his nfl.com profile is “Lives to strike, loves to strike.”Gant from Marshall is a flat out striker at safety. Really good supporting the run.
Online I found this about Meyers: "An unfinished product who converted from quarterback..."Adam CaplanVerified account @caplannfl 7m7 minutes ago

Love that.

What do you make of Hall, SMU? He's got some legit juice to him, but what I watched, his football IQ was...not great. Flies around, flashes explosiveness but often runs out of the play. I just picture Belichick screaming at him after every film session.Terez Hall is your LB/ST.
Meyers is a big slot who can block well. Nice pickups.
Pats just should park an ambulance in the end zone whenever he’s on the field. With a name like that, why can't he just rep himself?
Not as many as the Beasties though. He’s got a lot of suits.
Damn straight. Not as many as the Beasties though.
FWIW, he played tackle at Texas (and Rice, previously, as he grad transferred to Texas). He's been working on snapping in an effort to be more valuable, but at least in college he was a good pass blocker and a pretty poor run blocker.Guard from Texas
Haven’t watched him yet in detail other than what I saw from writers who covered his visit (they post some film clips). What do you make of Hall, SMU? Jerod Mayo personally worked him outTerez Hall is your LB/ST.

Ryan Davis flies under the radar due to the combination of his size (5-9, 185 lb on his Auburn stats page), and playing in an offensive system that seemed at times to be actively hostile to effectively employing WR talent, but he quietly became Auburn's all time receptions leader in 2018, and also served as the team's primary punt returner. His time as a WR was often (but not always) spent receiving Coach Gus Malzahn's frequently called WR screens, so most of his yardage was gained via YAC in a crowded field rather than from running routes down the field. He set Auburn's single-season receptions record in 2017 catching passes from Stidham.
He just said that, yo.He returned punts last season too.
Recalling the days of Ty Law and Lawyer Milloy.Has always had a good relationship with the referees. You know, whistle blowers.
I agree Roberts has come a long way, but the contract is working against him. As you note, he's only signed through 2019, where Hall has a three-year deal. Also, I don't know if people realize this, but rookie contracts, particularly late-rounders, are heavily backloaded. Roberts has made ~$1.7MM so far in his NFL career. He's under contract for a little over $2MM in 2019, with very little dead money (~$25K). Hall actually has more dead money. Basically, if it's close, Hall will have edge from a cost / roster construction standpoint. It's worth keeping in mind that, with Bentley presumably healthy, they're competing for a 4th LB role that probably isn't going to play a ton barring injury, and Roberts is nothing notable as a special teamer.Hall reminded me a bit of Eladon Roberts. Contact, downhill player who has more pop/explosion than you'd expect from his size (6'1, 230#). He didn't look good in coverage (I mean, at all) and he'd overrun plays and shoot the wrong gap. But when he was where he was supposed to be, he got there in a hurry and with bad intentions. He was a very effective blitzer (5 sacks), he'd jack OL backwards, which you don't often see from 230# LBs. It's hard to envision him beating out Roberts in 2019 (Roberts has come a long way), but Roberts will be a free agent after the season so Hall profiles as someone who could fill that role.
I like dcmissles post that it would've been hilarious if they didn't sign a TE. It would've been such an FU from BB with everyone sure we'd go after one, and hopefully in the first round.TE from Texas, Andrew Beck come on down
Known a s a blocking back and had 26 of his 40 career receptions last year:

Develin is maybe the best blocking FB in the NFL. We're going to cut him for a UDFA?I like dcmissles post that it would've been hilarious if they didn't sign a TE. It would've been such an FU from BB with everyone sure we'd go after one, and hopefully in the first round.
That said, this scouting report on Beck is very encouraging for an UDFA. He can certainly block. He was team captain. He averaged a 4.59 in the 40-yard and so might have some potential as a receiver. And can also play out of the backfield. The later quality might be bad news for James Develin
