LOL, I'm not sure about that bolded part. The older I get the more I want to vent and rant about.

Fred just saying shit to make Gorman uncomfortable was awesome this morning because the stuff was so out in left field that Gorman doesn't react... at all... and there is so much silence I have to check and see if my stream is working.
That pregnant pause was soooooo long and hilariously awkward. I love Gorman. One of the few guys that seems to get it and isn't super serious all the time

This is going back years, but for any longtime listeners, T&R talked about how they were told Gunner passed away recently. Man, that guy made me laugh. Liggetts for everyone!

I still accidentally say “hey guys, hey” when joining conference calls.

The Gunner and Chili Guy both dead. Dungeon Master Jim better watch his back.

Related videos are all Faster Guy for me.

edit: RIP, Gunner. Hope you learn how to change the channel in heaven.

I was wondering exactly the Gunner lived, it sounded like Sabego Lake or something in Beverly / Wenham. Based on what they said he lived in Beverly / Wenham and operated a bridge, which i'm assuming is the Kernwood Bridge. I always got worried going over that bridge thinking that The Gunner had the controls.

Zo was in on the crossover today and he told a story (I don't know what provoked it as I didn't listen to a lot of the show) about some old equipment manager.

"I rememember when we would go to Philly, normally we'd have 4 or 5 buses all spaced out but when we went to Philly all the guys would pile into the first bus to get there early. When I got to the stadium (whomever it was who has since died) was in the locker room drilling holes in the wall. The Eagles' cheerleaders shower was next to ours so all the guys would take turns peeping in"

Everyone else on the air was pretty creeped out by it and talking about how it's gross and very illegal.

Also Zo in typical fashion said that he thought the cheerleaders knew and liked it, and would ham it up a little. And then he said that no one knew about it, but every 4 years when they went back there would be medal plates over the holes to cover them and they'd have to redrill.

Can imagine the Kraft's will be having a word with him, and there is a statement ready if that story takes off. After Bob's latest issue, can't have this going without a response. Yikes. Maybe he conflated his memories with Porky's?

I knew I heard about it before so I don't think by now it was a trade secret at this point. Still, hearing a 50 year old former QB almost glowingly talk about it, in today's landscape, was creepy

Is anyone really shocked that a meathead like Zo wouldn't see the issue with this?

His favorite song is about a guy whose girlfriend goes away so he invites another friend over to stay the night, but she refuses his advances so he kicks her out. He probably doesn't realize this, of course, but it's a little serendipitous.

Fred yelling about spoilers and how people need to get over it and toughen up and he'd like to shout spoilers through a bullhorn and bring back the draft makes me hope awful things happen to him. People enjoy something and want to experience it fresh? The horrors! I don't have anything I enjoy so I better ruin that for them. Get the fuck over yourself. I bet the people he's bitching about needing to toughen up managed to get to work when it snowed.

I didn't listen to the rant, but I'd bet its partially PTSD from the ration of shit he got from "the headmaster dies" back in Atlanta.

Your point about the snow definitely stands though. I still can't believe he thinks he wasn't in the wrong about that one.

It’s kind of his schtick to never admit when he’s wrong. He’s still hanging onto Tatum being a bad pick and that Baker Mayfield sucks. He’s basically become an angry troll.

I get his point, and it's the same one made on Deadspin recently.

You can argue the spoiler-averse culture has swung too far and has limited discourse. It shouldn't be too difficult for those who want to avoid this stuff to just not use social media or the internet in ways that prime them for being spoiled. And so long as someone isn't actively being malicious, they shouldn't be the target of vitriol for spoiling something.

The bolded was exactly his point. People were pissed and giving them shit for the bit yesterday saying they spoiled End Game on the air, which they 100% did not. They bleeped out the whole thing. Fred said 100 times he wasn't going to spoil it. Nick asked the people if they wanted to play the game and they did.

The SPOILER people lost their shit on them for not even spoiling it and its gone too far. Also, the movie's been out nearly a week, if you're that sensitive about spoilers go see the movie.

Anyone else hear Fred hang up on that Canes beat reporter from the Charlotte Observer yesterday? Kind of funny, but obviously a dick move. Making fun of the south and southern accents is one of the very few things you can get away with anymore, and Fred certainly cashes in on every opportunity (although he only did it lightly here--he also found the guy plain boring.) I guess he's taking in a little bit of heat about it, but it sounds like he could care less.

I caught it, big dick move and didn't really move the needle for me either way. I'm indifferent about the whole thing, definitely no where near how funny it was to hang up on Pitino. He's right that the guy was pretty boring.

He'd be getting a ton less heat if his first comment after hanging up wasn't about his southern accent.
The points about the reporter making "no sh*t" type analysis was spot on.
"how did the 'canes start playing better?"
"They started scoring goals"

I caught it. Maybe not the classiest move, but I also loved it as half my family is in VA and I get called out when I poke fun at the accents.

I laughed pretty hard but mostly from the personal experience with it. Pile on, Fred.

Seems about as cutting edge as Fred's typical sports analysis.

Their coverage of game one will be the best in Boston tomorrow. They're the only show to consistently kill it with the Bruins.

I love the absurdity of T&R. The same guys who spent months perpetuating the "Sarge Sucks" thing went off on radio pranks this morning. I know they're too self aware to not recognize how ridiculous it all is, and I find it highly entertaining.

I'm not sure how well it translated to radio but the Bruins Super Fan thing today was something else on Twitch. Chief Gonnamakeyoucheer (which is completely racist) should have lost though.

What the heck are T&R doing to Nick this evening? I'm seeing the social media pictures that are being fed into my feed by Wallace, but I don't have context for it.

I think they have his dad out on a date with the porn star that they know. God I love his dad haha.

It’s a party with / for Nicks dad. They’ve been teasing Nick about his dad being more famous than him, etc. for a while. Then they started talking about his dads sex life which Nick was uncomfortable with. So they invited the porn star, Tyler Faith.

That recap this morning is why I keep listening to this show on an almost daily basis when I don't have the patience for the other shows.

The Danny Ainge callback yesterday was pretty compelling radio. Fred's "Did you hear what I said, Danny? I was on your side." was hysterical.

Meanwhile, is there a bigger drop in replacement value than going from T&R to Mike Flynn?

Listening to Thursday's show. Fred is just a miserable hipster. Holy shit this guy does not like ANYTHING anyone else likes!

Since I'm complaining: if you made the show a drinking game, you might legitimately drink yourself to death if you drink every time Wallach comes in with "Fred's right" or "Rich is right". He's pretty much just the show's Yes man

It blows my mind Wallach has been on this show for 10 years. Have not had a chance to listen much for the last 2 years. Has he improved at all or is he the same Wallach?
He's gotten much more comfortable with Fred and Rich. I generally only listen for 20-30 minutes on any given morning but it feels like there are significantly fewer awkward moments. He's still too long winded with his questions during interviews but I think he's improved there as well. Or maybe I'm just gotten used to him. I used to start thinking 'shut up and let them answer' about halfway through every question he would ask. I do that much less now.

God I miss Crash every time I listen to this show! He was perfect for these guys! But then again maybe he wouldn't be at this stage. They're all older now and have kids (except Crash) so I can't imagine the partying would fit with them anymore. God getting older sucks!

The Geneva Convention should have taken two weeks of Adam Jones morning radio into account. Sheer, unadulterated torture.

See ya in 14 days, 98.5.

ditto

I lasted 5 seconds this morning. I cannot believe they choose Jones to fill in.
