That 4/20 - 4/24 stretch is going to be insane.

Lloris had no business spilling the Salah header but I'll take it. Underlooked aspect of this one is Robertson's last-ditch block on what looked to be a sure goal for Eriksen

Not to mention VVD cutting off the pass to Son and making Sissoko shoot. He looked like a hockey defenceman playing a 2 on 1 ..

No gloating over that win .. just massive relief.

Your side won a title when a team fell asleep and gave up 2 goals in stoppage time, and another when one of the 5 best players in Liverpool history slipped at a critical moment.

I don't care if every team Liverpool play the rest of the season come down with Ebola and have to put their youth teams out there, if Liverpool win it I will enjoy every second of it.
I didn’t say you shouldn’t enjoy it, in fact I said I’m convinced you’re going to be. I, however, am very much not enjoying it

Oddly enough neither am I .. there’s nothing celebratory about this title run. I’m enjoying the games but the feeling you have to win every - single - game is highly stressful.

I’ll take as much luck as we can get. This ‘Pool team is one of the best in their long storied history .. if they win it they won’t have backed in.

They will have beaten a side that is arguably the best team in the world. No small feat. Even to compete thus far is huge.

Edit: not to imply I am regretting this race .. beats all hell out of a top 4 fight ..

Was having a chat with my Spurs mate the other day. He was pointing out the flaws of each player and saying why he didn't trust them. To which I replied, if you didn't have a doubt about a Spurs player, he wouldn't be a Spurs player.

If I never see Wolves again it will be too soon.
Solid club with a manager who really knows how to deploy his tools.
They've taken points or cup matches from all of the big six (except City) this season. Deserved leaders of the chase pack.

Wolves and Watford win big to stay 1-2 in the race for the Everton Cup. Wolves, Watford, Everton, Leicester, and Wst Ham, in that order, separated by five points from 7th-11th.

More racism in Italy... Kean was the target, then scored and threw it at the opposing fans.

The state of this in Italy makes me ashamed to have my heritage there. Cagliari should have a stadium ban, but that isn’t enough/fair. Allegri’s post-game comments make sense: use video tech to target and ban as much as possible. If I hadn’t pitched my Bonucci shirt after his move to Milan, now would have been the perfect time. Unless I’m reading his comments far out of context, he put the blame 50/50 on Kean and the fans.

Juventus obviously aren’t immune to this and I’d be a hell of an asshole to ignore it (some will justifiably think I’m a hell of an asshole anyway...). The issues in Italy seem distressingly deep and I have no idea what the fix is. Unfortunately, we have more than we can handle on this side of the pond as well. This crap simultaneously makes my blood boil and depresses me beyond belief.

If Spurs mess up the christening of WHL II after United's result yesterday, I will refer to them at Totteringham for the remainder of the EPL season (I reserve the right to pretend I never said this for purposes of UCL).

Bonucci's comments are troublingly out of touch - it's good to see players like Sterling calling him out on it publicly.

Couldn't agree more with your last sentence

Spurs totally dominate the first half: 71% possession, 14 shots to 2, 9 shots on goal to zero. But their shooting was awful and they fail to get on the board.

The CP back line was really good; particularly because they got zero help from their MF and attacking players. I think Spurs need to be more aggressive attacking down the wings and not just settle for crosses into the box and hoping Kane can outwrestle Kelly and Tompkins.

Thank god Spurs didn't botch that. They were playing well but tight during the first hour. Interesting setup with Dele dropping deeper behind Eriksen. Personally, I'd never drop Dele that far away from goal considering he's either the second or third best finisher on the team, but Eriksen got on the scoresheet so what do I know.

Sadly, I think this is going to get worse in coming years. Ethno-nationalism is surging along the Mediterranean and in the Balkans as as the number of African immigrants has increased. It’s been particularly bad in Southern Italy, which has been the destination of many refugees fleeing Libya. Africans are being scapegoated for all sorts of problems (which actually trace back to plutocrats like Berlusconi...), and numerous politicians are fanning those flames. We’re entering an ugly period.

As for what football can do...really, not much in the grand scheme of things. My suggestion for UEFA: mandate that every top flight league work with Kick Out Racism to create an anti-racism campaign that includes public education initiatives; I imagine the major international corporate sponsors would be glad to support this. When fans are abusive, they should be banned for life from the stadium. For teams that are repeat offenders, dock points. In the end, losing points is the best leverage over the clubs.
