McDaniel’s says Pats have a float tank at Gillette to simulate 5 hours of sleep in 40 mins. Not exactly buildup to the game but I thought cool
I want one of those float tanks so bad.

McVay needs a better game face.

Based on folks at the NFL Experience and walking around downtown, Pats fans outnumber Rams fans at least 30 to 1 in the city. This is going to be an overwhelmingly pro Pats crowd on Sunday.

I have a guy who works for me who lives in LA, but he’s from Chicago and he’s a Bears fan. I talked to him the other day, he said that there’s no way you would ever know that an LA team is in the Super Bowl. Nobody cares, even in his office full of Dodger fans.

And yet, none of it matters. I am fully preparing myself for McVay to slice and dice the Pats D just like Philly did last year. If they don’t, awesome, but I’m going in ready for the possibility that the Pats may only get a couple stops.

Edit: as the saying goes, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

So far I can confirm. Now that said it likely won’t be pre-snap loud but the Pats success will be celebrated more than the Rams IMO

There's the odd stand on the corner selling Rams gear but that's about it. No chatter at the office. I know more people from Los Angeles going to the game that are Pats fans than Rams fans. It's really odd and sort of sad.

I don't disagree, but I think you mean "Hope for the best, expect the worst (some drink Champagne, some die of thirst)"

Goff had so much trouble with the noise in the Superdome last week that they had to make adjustments to his helmet, and they were having all kinds of communication problems early in that game. LA fell behind 13-0. Crowd noise can be a factor.

Even the Pats prepared for it this week in practice by blasting Guns N Roses, per the pool reports.

Apparently, The Rams haven’t been preparing for crowd noise at all. That may prove to be a huge mistake.

Remember the Broncos/Seahawks Super Bowl when it got so loud that Denver screwed up the snap count leading to a safety?

Yup. I was there for that one and I’ll give Seahawks fans credit. They were freaking LOUD. I was also a bitter Patriots fan and did my best to help their cause :)

“Typically what we do is we’ll really blare it depending on if we’re at home or away,” McVay told Williams.. “If we’re on the road, it’ll be blaring during offensive periods. If we’re at home, it’ll be during defensive periods. Now, in a static environment, we just kind of had it in the background. Hopefully there will be more Rams fans than Patriots, but you never know.”

How high was google when they created this?
Hell, this has to be the closest that Buffalo has gotten to Superbowl relevancy since the early 1990s. And for the record soxhop, that was before Twitter and back when most people got their news from old white guys who read it off of a teleprompter at 6:30pm local time.

I’ve just done peanut M&Ms and chips and salsa since the Seahawks game.

My dad is in town for it and we may watch together. Would be first Pats SB we were in the same country for since 96. And I didn’t really care about football then (I was 11).

Only Sox World Series game we have ever been together for is 2004 Game 1. That was fun.

Didn’t see this anywhere else but DHT was listed as a full practice participant Friday. Sounds more like a cold than the flu. Crisis averted?

As long as he wasn't patient zero and didn't pass it along to the rest of the team today/tomorrow...

The cradle of the game.
https://www.patriots.com/news/patriots-friday-pool-report

Every player was a full participant, including linebacker Dont’a Hightower, who missed Thursday’s practice with an illness, and defensive tackle Malcom Brown, who was limited on Wednesday with a calf injury.
“He did everything today,” Belichick said of Hightower. “You could hear him talking out there, and that’s usually a good sign with him. He has plenty of energy.”
“This is our sixth practice,” Belichick said. “We have hit everything. I think we are ready to go.”
After the work on the field was done, Tom Brady, Brian Hoyer and offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels played a contest to see who could punt or throw the ball closest to the goal line without crossing it. Hoyer was the winner, landing a punt at about the 1-yard line. Belichick stopped to watch, enjoying a light-hearted moment with his assistant coaches and players.
“We’ve still got a few things to review and cover, but I would say everybody now needs to just gear up for how we want to play the game and be ready to go out there and play it that way," Belichick said. “I think the next 48 hours are going to be really important, like they always are. Fine-tuning it and really zeroing in. Being physically, mentally and emotionally ready to go Sunday night.”
In summary: Locked and loaded.

In the simulacrum
"Hoyer was the winner, landing a punt at about the 1-yard line."

Hoyer coming out for a third and 20 punt/fake pass is going to be awesome!

Ideally they will set it up where Brady looks hobbled coming off the field, the entire world will have their heads explode with the fantasy that Brady is out, Hoyer does the sneak punt, leaves the Rams on the 1 yard line where they then go for a 3-and-out. With the now flipped field (I don't wanna hear about the Rams punter, yo!), Brady then comes back in and crushes them.

You brought back memories of the Tony Eason era. The Pats had a first round playoff game in Denver. Losing 20-17, they got Denver into a 3rd-and-long with a chance of getting the ball back. Elway kicks a surprise 31 yard punt out of the shotgun, pinning the Pats back deep in their territory. A couple of plays later the game essentially ends with Eason getting sacked in the end zone, a very fitting image of that era of Patriots history.

Seriously. Bet the house.
The line is holding at under 3, which is a pretty decent bet, especially if it ends up a shootout or in OT. But I have a strange feeling we're going to get some anticipatory celebration time and not a heart attack bowl for the first time (Having said that, they probably win on a last second Gostowski field goal, of course). This crew is healthy and peaking at exactly the right time, and I suspect they'll either wear the down the Rams by controlling things up front and having their way in the second half and/or Goff makes a few mistakes that the Pats capitalize on.

Along those lines (bad pun intended), I think it's fascinating that some of the best match-ups to focus on may be between the Pats' offensive interior guys Thuney, Andrews and Mason vs. Donald and the Rams' defensive front. And they have to use Develin to throw some double teams there, no? I think Brady may need to be able to get some throws out quickly early on, but will eventually have time to pick things apart. Just feels like the stars are aligned...
