I think a lot of teams would look at a weakness at Safety and think "if that is the worst of it".....Cowboys 3rd in NFL in YPG allowed, 3rd in Points allowed. They have a very solid defense, and I like the way the O matches up vs. The Rams. (Specifically the running game) I like their chances Saturday.......

Oh, believe me, we know. The Cowboys always used to build their defense from the back, which inevitably led to disastrous results. I don't know that anyone could/would say with a straight face that they could have even made it to the playoffs without that defense as currently constructed, let alone still playing.

I know it sounds a little like first world problems to complain about safety being the weak link, but it is a concern going into a game against an offense that can sling it around the yard.

Haha, I could see that. Yeah the safety position is definitely the one big weak link in the defense. I'm hoping they can get good pressure on Goff though and turn him into a bit of a head case...and bottle up TG II with their good run defense. TG II might not even be 100% anyway.
Look at the bright side, at least that problem will be partially fixed next year when you sign Earl Thomas.

Disappointing end to a season that unexpectedly went well late in the year...not because they were likely to beat the Rams, but because of how they lost.

They just got absolutely violated on the ground. Something this defense just hasn't allowed...even against great running teams. They didn't make Goff throw enough.

Spirited effort though on the other side of the ball. Offense never quit and kept them within shouting distance in the 2nd half...they just simply don't have enough talent to make up for a game like that from the defense.

Kris Richard exposed as the same doofus Scott Linehan is

to think there is a huge segment of Cowboys honks who want the guy as the HEAD COACH after this game blows my mind. His unit just got worked by a fat fuck RB who was cut by two teams.

Congrats on a good season.

I’m surprised that your front seven got road graded. The Rams’ o-line was the difference. You have time to figure it out, and next week at this time you’ll be left mainly with memories of a good season.

So what's on tap for the offseason? Extend Dak to a big money deal? Same for Cooper? Are there any impending free agents that are likely gone? Is Frederick likely to return or is his future still an unknown?

Last reports I heard on Frederick said that everyone was optimistic about him returning.

Dak is a tough call. He could still improve some...especially since most of his issues tend to be stuff like footwork/accuracy. His decision-making is above average. I've read conflicting reports from a lot of good football writers (who have talked to scouts, etc).

Some think that if he improves some of his accuracy issues via footwork improvement, that would vault him from middle of the pack to a top 10 QB. Others think he won't improve his accuracy. He's 25...could go both ways. He's a bargain on his current deal, but he is not going to be a bargain getting paid top 10-15 money.

Honestly, the Cowboys should probably wait another year and see what happens in 2019. If he takes a leap, then you offer him the long term deal. If not, you find another QB. Their cap situation improves dramatically after next year anyway.
