Good game for Saban to coach off of. Clemson’s D will be much better. But Bjorn Borg won’t come close to replicating Murray.

If you make the majors. Or are Rusney Castillo.

The A's and their first-round selection in this year's Draft, Kyler Murray, are nearing a deal that would guarantee the 20-year-old center fielder nearly $5 million as a signing bonus and would allow him to play football for one more season at the University of Oklahoma, a source told MLB.com. The ninth overall pick comes with a slot value of $4,761,500.

Kyler Murray finishes the season with 4,361 yards passing, 42tds and 7ints'. Oh, and he also had 1,001 yards rushing and 12 more td's.

As he said, it’s nice to have options.

That deal is a no-brainer.
I think baseball is the way to go if he cares about health and guaranteed $, but in the short-term the NFL could be lucrative.

If he was able to be picked at #32, his first NFL contract would be similar to Lamar Jackson’s $9.471 million with a $4.968 million signing bonus.

It only takes one team to fall in love with him, though I doubt he would be a first round pick, just saying he could make big $ in the NFL also.

What would have been embarrassing is if Clemson lost to Syracuse (which they came awful close to doing), Michigan beat OSU or Georgia beat Bama; and either or both of those results kept Clemson out in favor of ND.

College football in a nutshell is a lot of fun to watch. That being said, we should just give Alabama the trophy every August and call it a day. This “playoff” is stupid. The tide are so much better than everyone else. Maybe Alabama vs a CFB All-Star team? That might be competitive?

If only last year Alabama won by 3 in OT, or the year before they lost the championship game, or the year before they won by 5, or the year before they didn't make the finals. That would have been really competitive.
I'm not disputing the greatness of the Alabama program, but the narrative that they "roll" to championships every year is just wrong.

I don’t know. Maybe all of the blowouts and uncompetitive bowl games this year are clouding my judgment, but those two games yesterday were horribly boring and while i hope I’m wrong, I expect the championship game to be more of the same.

It may very well be. But the fact is, the past 5 championship games have been one blowout(Ohio State over Oregon) and 4 games decided by less than a touchdown.

It was embarrassing enough with Georgia losing to LSU.

I’ve been against an 8 team playoff for a few reasons. But one of them is that I don’t think the semi’s have been that competitive. But I think an 8 team playoff is the answer to competitive semi-final games. So hypothetically this year.

1 Bama v 8 UCF
2 Clemson v 7 Michigan
3 Notre Dame v 6 OSU
4 Oklahoma v 5 Georgia

Semi’s would probably be as follows:

Bama v Georgia
Clemson v OSU

Both of those games are probably more competitive than last nights games. So while the round of 8 may have a few blowouts, I think it would make a more competitive final 4.

This year was an outlier with 4 undefeated teams. Bama and OSU have both won it all from the 4 seed. ND deserved to be in the final 4 but they clearly aren’t a top 4 team, so eliminating them prior to the round of 4 only happens if we expand to 8. So 8 might be good for the overall health of the final 2 weeks.

Not only would you shake out most of the pretenders in an 8 team playoff, but just as importantly, you would avoid the rustiness that seems to plague too many teams after having not played a real game for a month or so. Teams could get this out of their system in the round of 8, and the semis would only benefit.

Yes.

People arguing Georgia over ND yesterday was too much of an ask. Yes, GA is better. No, you could not put in a 2-loss team over an undefeated team that played a respectable schedule. Unless you revert to an “eyeball” test that is in the eyes of the beholder — and then you might as well revert to the AP poll that used to decide these things. GA would not have replaced ND; it would have replaced OK, which deserved to be in.

8 teams addresses much of the problem. In most years, it’s probably perfect. It addresses the UCF stuff as well.

I expect Clemson to keep things close. Will be interesting to see how Lawrence handles the Bama pressure. This ain’t ND anymore.

I’m expecting a close game, too hard to predict and I’m too close to orange to be truly objective. Most of my analysis has a shred of hope sewn in. So I’ll keep what I think will happen to myself and just go full “I told you so” once its done.

I do think this Clemson team is the best one they’ve ever had, but it does not have Deshaun, so I would guess at about 11:30 tonight, we’ll know what, if any, the big game difference is between DW4 and TL16.

Oh and if it hasn't been mentioned, after tonight, either Clemson or Alabama will have won 11 of the last 12 CFP games. (4 years x 3 games [semis+final] per year)

LOL, he just got done saying that Tua threw the ball before the receiver went into his route. Next play, he throws the ball and the receiver didn't run that route, and he never saw the defender.
