2018 College Football Week Fourteen Game thread

How nice for ND; to not be subjected to a conference championship game.
I still think it’s a farce that ND is allowed to play by a different set of rules than nearly every other program in the NCAA.
Conference championship games are often a chance for teams to burnish their resumes - and if Notre Dame had lost a game this year, the absence of a game this week probably would have cost them. In any event, Notre Dame has no FCS teams on its schedule...and they already played Pitt, who Clemson is playing tonight.

I'm not saying Clemson is a bad team, by the way - as per your other post above, their resume might be just a smidge better than Notre Dame's even if Notre Dame probably has the best win of the two (Michigan) and probably a better overall schedule. But to say it's a joke that the Irish are going to the playoff is simply ludicrous.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t A&M beat LSU—the same LSU team that smacked around Georgia? And didn’t Clemson’s third string QB—a red shirt freshman—play most of the fourth quarter against Syracuse? And yet they still won.
Bryant left team that week and Lawrence got concussed in the second quarter, so they had to go with RS Freshman, third string, for entire second half.

I never said it was a joke that ND is going to this year’s CFB. I said it’s a farce that they’re treated differently. For the record, I’m in favor of making the playoffs a tournament with guaranteed slots for teams that win their conference championship game. All this nonsense about ‘the best 4 teams’ is just noise. Make it a tournament, and give guaranteed slots to the power 5 teams that win their conference championships; far more interesting.

almost as ludicrous as the ad DAZN is using to introduce themselves to the American market...and btw The Gipper has been dead for 98 years, as long as the Irish want to live in the past, screw them and their touchdown Jeebus.

They aren’t “treated” differently, they alone chose not to join a conference back in the days when several other independents chose to. Pitt and Penn State used to be independent back in the day. Further back when Army and Navy were top teams they were also independent.

I hate Notre Dame as much as the next guy but they aren’t getting any special treatment here.

What the hell is DAZN?

And after the disaster to end the 2nd quarter, UCF comes out with a monster touchdown to open the 3rd to get it back to a 10 point game, 38-28.

You don't have a link to a video of this ad, do you? (I've only seen the Canelo/Buffer one...very curious to see what the company I'm working for tomorrow is doing today.)

Moving the Line
As someone who has watches and supports the Tide, this has been the really strange slow start they've had the past few weeks. Been really impressed with the Georgia concepts on O. Most here should be able notice a fair share of the similarities with Patterson's fly sweeps called today, given BB's previous meetings with Smart.

I still think this is tied early in the third. Utmost respect for Kirby and all, but to only be up 7 when Alabama has sleepwalked the vast majority of the half with unforced mental errors (Irv Smith!), it's kind of concerning, to say nothing of the fact the Gumps get the ball to start the 2nd half.

In Europe they are apparently the equivalent of the third place after ESPN and Fox here: anything in sports not picked up by those shows up. Entering the US market with a package of boxing crap that can't even attempt to garner ppv interest.

Bama knows they're in. No need to show off the playbook here to get back into it

Valid question by CBS. What if bama ends up getting blown out by something crazy like 28+. I'm sure they're still in because of money, but then Oklahoma has a much better loss (3 points)
