“You got your rear end kicked and run right out of your own building. Right on national television.”

Now he is ripping OBJ

Why does he love Daniel Murphy so much now?
He thinks the Yankees are going to spend big and he is worried that the $ will go to the wrong places. For example, for Machado rather than starting pitching.

Of course, if Cashman pounces and winds up with Bryce Harper, Mike will be delighted.

Mike says Mookie was "Clearly" over the wall when he went for the catch. WOW what a dope. Although he iIS supporting the out call. But don't tell your audience the player leaned over the fence because he did not.

How many saps have bought his app?

I have a hard believing he can monetize it to the extent WFAN can monetize him.

But it sounded like he does not have a contract and may walk,

Negotiations.

If it was $3 a month, I'd be all in. But $8.99 for Mike's picks and a handful of archived interviews? Nope.

By the way, worth pulling out Mike's interview with Jane Leavy from last week. It's still in WFAN's podcast feed. She's got a new biography out on Babe Ruth, and came out with a bombshell: Ruth's mother was a drunk who cheated on his father with another bartender, and they had a messy divorce by 2002 standards much less 1902. I don't think anybody else had discovered Ruth's parents got divorced, which also played into a rather remarkable find: Ruth wasn't committed to St Mary's as much as he was basically sent there like it was boarding school (which it was for some kids). His dad paid the tuition fees. He got dumped there, not committed there.

You can get his picks on Friday, (and while he's been pretty good ATS in the past, he's getting killed this year, as a few of us are) and the season's over in a few months. It seems whatever the market might for his app he's cannibalizing with his 3-6 M-F gig.

And as far as I know, as big as he thinks he is, he's still pretty much a local guy, with no real national audience. What's the pull for his app outside NJ/NYC? I can't believe its that big. He's between a rock/hard place as it seems he needs a decent platform to push/monetize the app. He'd probably do a CBS gig as a loss leader as a "Mikey the Greek" just to get the attention/platform he needs. But I heard he's got very few friends in the excutive suite.

Agree on Jane Leavy. I heard her interview last week and she was great.

I was expecting him to pick up other personalities for the app. He’s working with a powerful agency and there really is no need for a central studio. I believe so far it has just been John Jastremski and the horseman.

I listened to that craziness, he said he would give up to 5 million to that podcast guy based on the numbers. It was kind of an insane listening moment.

1,000 is not exactly a great bar to set for a challenge. Even if Francessa has double that number of subs it is still terrible.

He never should have gone back to WFAN. Surely there were better opportunities out there for him. It was time for him to do something different. His own weekly Sunday night TV show in NYC was probably the way to go.

That is incredibly funny. I can't stop laughing.

How many times do you think he asked who Stan Lee was? His repetition is the first thing I notice when I haven't heard him in a while. When you key in on it it starts sounding so fucking insane.

The Radio Chick used to have a contest/bit in which she'd give a caller a specific phrase, and the caller would have to guess how many times Robert DeNiro would repeat that same phrase in a clip they would then play.

My brother still does this bit every time De Niro comes up where he goes into the scene from Goodfellas where they tell Henry he has to go home to his wife and enough with the mistress. De Niro says, "I got Karen calling the house--I can't have it," and then repeats "I can't have it" five hundred times. Always gets me.

Ordway used to roll like that, when he still mattered.

Mike’s next one will be, Notre Dame has a puncher’s chance. He’ll be cagey about sneaking that take in there, but he’ll get it in.

Something tells me that if “Tom” were still presiding over the Giants, things would not be better, and they might well be worse.

Jalen Ramsey added to the dumpster fire that “Tom” is presiding over in JAX:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/2018/11/25/18111410/jalen-ramsey-jaguars-bills-trash-talk

The Jaguars under Tom Coughlin are dogs.
The three teams that beat the Pats have turned in some hideous performances since....Jacksonville certainly the worst.

Francesa with a real solid rant about the missed PI call in the Saints-Ram game, and the probability of reviewable penalty calls because of the influence and importance of gambling revenues in the future.

And then says the Shield should fine Gurley for exchanging shirts with the ref. Which was a photoshop. Just go away
Three interesting things about his opening rant:
(1) I was unaware of how much he hated the expansion of sports gambling legalization. He made many references to how bad legalized gambling is. Does he think people have been listening to his gambling takes all these years without actually betting on games? Does he think his audience all drives to AC to bet on games? It's crazy.
(2) He referenced his outrage w/r/t referees exchanging shirts with players multiple times. He really did think that photoshop Gurley posted was real. Edit: They talked to him during an ad break.
(3) At the beginning of his show, he mentioned that the Nets "were nice enough" to let WFAN put their game "on the stream." I wasn't sure what he meant until his rant (which I was listening to via Radio.com) got interrupted by the Nets pregame show. I'm kind of amazed that the Nets allowed one of their games to be played only online so that Fat Mike could rant about the NFL.
