If there are any openings; I’d be interested in playing, it looks like my old league won’t be returning.

This is one of those huge leagues, where multiple teams will have the same player...

I should rename my team Mid-Table FC.

I’d love to do it if there’s room
No shortage of room. A league can have 9999999+ members.

You have 100M pounds to pick 15 players - 2 keepers, 5 defenders, 5 mids, 3 forwards. Each player has a price set by the league.

There is no limit on the number of teams that can own a player. The entire universe of PL players is available to you, max of three guys from any one PL team. You don't trade with other team owners, you buy players at their set price and sell them back if you don't want them.

You pick your favorite XI out of your 15 each week. You have to play a keeper and a minimum of 3 defenders, otherwise you can deploy your defenders/mids/forwards as you like.

You designate a captain, who gets double points, and a vice-captain, who gets double points if your captain doesn't play. Bench players automatically count in the order selected if one of your chosen XI doesn't play (but if one of your starters plays and gets 0 points you don't get the points for the bench player).

Scoring is:

For playing up to 60 minutes 1
For playing 60 minutes or more (excluding injury time) 2
For each goal scored by a goalkeeper or defender 6
For each goal scored by a midfielder 5
For each goal scored by a forward 4
For each goal assist 3
For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender 4
For a clean sheet by a midfielder 1
For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper 1
For each penalty save 5
For each penalty miss -2
Bonus points for the best players in a match 1-3
For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender -1
For each yellow card -1
For each red card -3
For each own goal -2
Score is cumulative throughout the season, most points at the end wins.

Every week you get one free transfer, which you can carry forward one week if you don't use (so you get two freebies the next week). You can only use available funds for transfer, so if you've got 1M unused and a player you want to get rid of who is priced at 5.5, you can get one costing up to 6.5. Transfers above and beyond your freebies are -4 points, so if you're like me and swap out 4 guys every week, you start each week deep in the hole and peg yourself for a mid-table finish. Twice a year you can do a wildcard and make unlimited transactions without the -4 price.

During the season, the price of well-performing players will go up and poorly performing players will go down, so if you got say, Lovren at 5.0M, and he goes through a horrible stretch where he doesn't play, does poorly, is hurt, etc., his price will tick down week by week to 4.9, 4.8, encouraging you to sell. Similarly, if you get, say, Pascal Gross at 7.0M, and he scores in double figures, his price will go up by increments - so as the value of the players you own goes up, you can sell at a profit, but if you don't own the player, you have pressure to get on the bandwagon before the price goes up further. It's only in 0.1 increments, but that 0.1 can make the difference between a solid, inexpensive third striker or fourth midfielder, and a guy that never plays and pulls a 0 every week.

This year's dilemma will be how to get both Salah and Kane into your team without it completely sucking elsewhere. Salah's worth 13M and Kane 12.5, so that's a quarter of your budget on 2/11 of your starters and 2/15 of your team. You would have to find underpriced guys with a good shot at playing time to fill in around. Most managers will make do with one or the other.

It's a lot of fun.

I'm in as Shaw-Cenk Redemption.

I'm just messing around still - for the first week your team isn't set until just before game time and you can make unlimited changes before then. This would be my team for Gameweek 1:

On second thought, I would switch Ream at the back for Lascelles, he's got an easier matchup.

I see I will not be the only person who knows the value of Lewis Dunk.

My squad so far - thinking of easing into adding Salah in case his price drops in the first few weeks, I imagine he'll be rested a bit to start the year.

Does anyone have a link to the league page where I could sign up? Or what site it's on so I can enter the code posted at the top.

Crap they finally moved my binky to a forward. That’s going to make it harder.

Love the team name @OilCanShotTupac

Interesting that 3/4 of the posted lineups have a player from the West Ham back 5 that was awful last year.

Tried to join, but keep getting invalid code. Anyone else having trouble?

Edit: nevermind - was logged into the draft side of the site rather than the regular fantasy.

Anyway, in as Courtois Interruptus

I got Kane and Salah and Pogba in. Feast or famine.

Let's see how it does.

Hey guys,

Would anyone be interested in a fantasy draft EPL league? I have a league that I run with 7 friends thats a good time. Its $50 to get in and we just had a guy bail. The draft is Friday night. Its a more Americanized way of doing fantasy (not a budget system, we draft players so they can only be on one team).

It's a lot of fun and a unique twist on how the fantasy EPL leagues are usually run. The draft is live at my house on Friday but we have a few people who wont be there sending me spreadsheets...however if you live in SE Mass/RI and you wanted to come all the better.

PM me if you're interested. Looking for one more guy.

For anyone else who picked Scott Malone as a £4m defender, may want to swap him out as he's now on Derby County

And.. the first nut punch of the fantasy season as De Gea gives up a goal in stoppage time to lose the 4 points for a clean sheet. Yay.

While I'm not going to blame computer gremlins, I am 99.99999999999999999999% sure that I didn't pick Zaha as my captain and Pickford as my vice for week 1.

The fact that Zaha got more points than the guy I know I picked assuages my frustration.

Going with Salah over Hazard as captain at the last second due to Vorm being in goal feels... quite stupid in retrospect

I picked Tosun over Hazard as an Everton fanboy. Still optimistic that it may work out.
