Sweet. This team just got a LOT better. Adding Tatum and Hayward improves them dramatically on offense. Wow.

And they have so many pieces still to add in the next few years. Awesome. Absolutely awesome.

This is the guy I wanted all along. Perfect.

I hope he sent the right story to The Players Tribune. I mean, the "I'm Staying in Utah" story was probably keyed up as well.

In that one he goes over the options with Stevens, who says "You know what, Gordon ... you need to stay with the Jazz"

Hayward improves their defense a bit too and gives them much needed length.

Haynes is actually probably hurt professionally. He made a big decision for a universally well liked dude harder, Gordon said so much in his article. Whos going to want to talk to him now?

I'm psyched but at the same time feel bad for Utah, who did a lot of the right things in building around him and getting the team to the second round in a tough conference. If I was a Jazz fan it would make me feel like even our home grown stars don't want to stay in Utah.

I think Bradley is the clear guy to move. Hayward and Brown can each play some 2, as can Smart. He is only around one more year anyway, and has the rep that will generate a quality return.

He said it, but I personally find it hard to believe that Hayward hadn't discussed this at all until I guess a couple hours ago? Whatevs.

I doubt it. He did his job, nobody except maybe Hayward is going to hold it against him that he reported something he was told. If anything it helps him because, he's known as "the guy who got Hayward right" he'll get plenty of answers from execs, Agents etc.

Depends if there's another move (trade) Danny thinks he can attain to make a title a legit shot this upcoming season. If not, I agree Bradley would ideally be the guy to move, buy I worry logistically about Crowder's mentality moving forward. I don't think he'll be able to handle this move and drafting Tatum.

Yeah, I feel bad for Jazz fans. But, Utah is under good management. I would think that the Jazz would remain more attractive to free agents than, say, the Knicks. Teams like Utah and OKC have to draft and develop, draft and develop, and rely on trades to improve.

Speaking of which, what are those possibilities?

This is so fucking awesome.

I know Crowder is redundant, but you're going to lose Bradley, and probaby Smart after this year anyways. Crowder is on a tremendous deal and is more versatile than Bradley.

Wow. If you didn't love the kid before, that PT article just crushed it. And like Kliq, I feel bad for Jazz fans but the organization let him go to market before - that had to be a factor in this decision.

As a side note, I love Brad Stevens and, moreso, Danny Ainge.

agree 100%. We'll miss AB, but we need to move his salary and he can probably net us a big man in return. Would like Danny to ship him out West, but have a feeling it may be Philly (yuck, don't want to make them better) who has the cap room/players for him (Holmes or Okafor).

Crowder is on a really attractive deal, gets better every year, plus a 3&D. Hopefully, Danny will keep him around.

Yeah what Danny has been able to accomplish is nothing short of amazing. Celtics had (a) a legitimate (if still not very high) chance at a championship, (b) tons of young players and future picks and (c) cap room to sign max free agents in two consecutive years. That's extremely hard to do in the NBA.

Hayward's article is 2100 words. It's fair to call BS on his "we hadn't even discussed where I was going yet" line, provided it's a reference to Haynes's Tweet. Nobody puts an article together that fast.

That is a really good point, but I tend to think if his college coach wasn't coaching the defending #1 seed in a weaker conference, (a #1 seed with tons of cap space and a treasure trove of future assets) he probably would have stayed. It was just the confluence of a bunch of factors.

I would assume he was also talking about the tweets about Miami being the frontrunner after that meeting, not just today.

I did.

But my other 786 posts today said the opposite.
Reading through this thread, I felt closer to you via the ups, the downs, the tweets, and parsing of George Hill's importance to the proceedings than I have in years.

Yep, I'm creeped out too.

As for Heynow: this is the piece that's gonna get us to the 6th game of the Eastern Conference Finals! Please, go west LeBron. Please.

Man, I'm so happy for Cs Nation.

I've always liked Hayward a ton, and grew to like and respect him even more after this year's Jazz/Warriors series. Not just a total beast to handle and fantastic all-around player — who btw played MUCH better defense on Kevin Durant than LeBron James did in the finals — but also just a total class act through and through. (The anti Blake Griffin!) You could see how much mad respect Curry, KD and the rest had for him after that series.

And that Players Trib piece ... wow. Almost brought tears to my eyes, and I'm only a casual Cs fan!

Rejoice!!!
