Surprised Wichita State was an 11-seed as 4 of their losses were without the glue to their team PG Fred VanVleet. I thought the committee took stuff like this into account. Could be a tough one for Miami as it doesn't seem to be a true 3/11 game......although with this seasons parity most of those matchups aren't weighted like they used to. Should be fun day! (Go Friars!)

UConn women are up 41-4 after the 1st quarter.

They should disband women's basketball.
UConn was favored by 61 points today and is up 85-24 with 10 minutes to go......as all eyes in Vegas as glued to the screen. The other 1-seeds were favored by around 40 each and some 2-seeds were laying over 30. The men have parity while the women have parody.

Seriously, if UConn didn't play their 5 starters today they would still be a 1 or 2 seed and giving 30 today.

Welp, if you believe the talking heads, these are the 2 days that return normalcy to the men's field ... with at most 2 double-digit seeds making the Sweet 16

Wichita with a furious comeback. Down by 3 now. We'll see if the effort to come back drains them for the last 10 minutes.

I never watch the tournament, but I am this year because my son is into it. Does Thomas Walkup have a future in the NBA? If so, where will he go in the draft? He was fun to watch last night.

Wichita played sloppy down the stretch. Just ran out of gas. They had to come back from down 21. That is asking a lot.

Cute that Yale gets this game in Providence. Not that the crowd would be rooting against them anywhere, but still.

actually Uconn has very little depth and only goes 7-8 players. And we are talking about UConn women, probably the most dominant sports program of the past 25 years? But there is no need to have 64 teams in the women's tourney. It's ridiculous

Miami seems a legit FF contender. I think they will give Villanova (or Iowa) a lot of trouble because they re so physical. A matchup vs Nova will be intriguing just because difference is styles

It really doesn't seem fair that Duke only gets to play its first round games in the Carolinas like two out of every three years. There were games in Raleigh this year. I know they are a 5 seed, but still .... After everything they've done for college basketball and sports in general it only would be fair.

Sorry, 4 seed

Agree. They should get auto bye to sweet 16 at min every year.

They almost did this year as it turned out. They will win easily today, though I worry a 5 hour plane ride to California may fuck with Coach K's delicate constitution.

Duke has a lot bigger advantage playing in the Northeast than they do down here.

Are you REALLY complaining about this draw? It's the dream draw.....UNCW in the first round and a Yale team that you are familiar with from an early season meeting so there are no surprises. Next week is a great Sweet Sixteen matchup for them as well.

They have their current AD and their previous AD (Joe Alleva) on the committee. And it sure paid off for them this year.

Great run by Yale but there is no chance they can keep up this pace. Like Wichita, they will fold in the end due to exhaustion.

Except Duke's biggest concern is short turnarounds with their short rotation. They did get a day in between obviously but Allen and Ingram never sit.
