Hoping that the Pats are letting all the early teams blow their loads and that there are some scrap heap bargains when everything is said and done.

Wishful thinking?

He took more money to go to a team that is 0-7 in playoff games since 1991. That's a fact. Again, I don't blame him for taking more money for the reasons you listed. You could lose the snark if you disagree with me. It comes off as childish.
And you come off as pathetic and having no clue when you bash a guy for not taking a significant pay cut to join your favorite team. When you stop doing that, I'll stop being snarky.
Perhaps Jones just didn't want to be part of an offense with a 40 year old QB, that needs line help and is dependent on a Tight End that is regularly injured. I still assume Kearse is the guy the Pats will bring in and am surprised they got involved with Jones.

The #Eagles signing G Brandon Brooks to a 5-year, $40M, source said.
So I guess the Raiders reset the guard market with the Osemele deal. I would rather have the great guard at $12M than the OK guy at $8M, but damn, all of that cap space is inflating the market.

This is excellent work. Kudos.

Not sure that "The Return of Brock Osweiler" really has that much zing to it...

So you're hoping the pats do exactly what they have done most offseasons over an unprecedented run of dominance in which they have been a no doubt super bowl contender for a decade and a half?

Seems like a safe wish.

Can we trade Garoppolo to Denver for next years first round draft pick?

Just got off the phone with WR Mohamed Sanu, : “The plan is to fly to Atlanta tonight to visit the #Falcons and then New England after."
He probably signs for 7 per in Atlanta. He could probably take less for NE. Even if the pats do some how get him I would still like Boldin. Don't compare him with Reggie Wayne either. He's more like Steve Smith than Wayne in terms of toughness and IQ.

Given his production level, that offer and the Pats' other needs, here's to that trip being cancelled immediately.

That Travis Benjamin deal is looking like a steal at this point, wish the Pats had matched. Danny's probably not worth cutting in this market. Yeesh.

I'm beginning to think the best free agents for the Pats to sign this offseason are Jones Hightower Collins and Butler. Make it happen!

espn: The NFL announced Kansas City will forfeit its 2016 third-round draft pick and its 2017 sixth-round pick for "having direct communications with [Jeremy] Maclin during the Negotiating Period" last season. The team was fined $250,000, and coach Andy Reid ($75K) and GM John Dorsey ($25K) were also fined.

Let that be a lesson to you, NFL teams.
Let your owner do the tampering. Members of the club get wrist slaps. Their minions get real punishment.

Rather have the devil you know than bringing in any high priced marginal talent.
Agreed, but the chances of them being able to re-sign the four players you mentioned took a hit today with the prices being spent around the league

“While we respect Commissioner Goodell and the process, we believe that the penalties proposed in this case are inconsistent with discipline enforced in similar matters — particularly given the league’s inconsistent communication of its policies on contact with potential free agents,” Hunt said.

Considering how last season went for PM that's, uhhhhh, interesting.

That's an impressively passive-aggressive tweet.

Absolutely agree there. I think Butler and Jones are probably goners but if they can sign at least two of the 4 then it allows the Pats to franchise one and transition the other.
