What happened to Bard in 2015? There are a bunch of articles about him doing a good rehab simulated game with the Cubs in March, and then nothing. It looks like he was on the DL most of the year - but for what?
Took a year off to polish his 2013 World Series ring.

Pretty sure I saw one, maybe two, "Four batters, 22 pitches, 2 hit batsmen"-type stories last year. I could be wrong however.

He had some kind of optional surgery during Jan 2014 and then imploded at TX's A level club. http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=bard--001dan
He signed with the Cubs in 2015, and had a promising rehab session: http://nesn.com/2015/03/ex-red-sox-daniel-bards-comeback-bid-with-cubs-takes-encouraging-turn/

Then nothing I can easily find.

(BTW, I'd love a stats site that lays out all the DL stints and reported day to day injuries inside the stats.)

I'm pretty sure they put him in an extended spring game and he imploded. That's why it's not in the stats. It's somewhere in last year's following former Sox thread.

Bronson Arroyo signs with the Nationals

Minor League deal, with an invite to Major League Training Camp. $2 million salary if he makes the opening day roster, possible $6 million more in incentives

Did they ever publicly release what was going on when the Red Sox stashed him at Pawtucket and never brought him back? If I recall correctly, he spent the bulk of 2011 in Pawtucket (putting up good numbers) and there were rumors that there was a reason he wasn't getting recalled.
I'm prolly butchering the story but didn't he make it very known he was pissed that he wasn't the first guy called up, and they Red Sox essentially said screw you and kept him down there?

Breslow seems to have signed a minor-league contract with MIA. Invitation to ST. He must not be as smart as I thought, or he would have given up baseball for something in the medical field.

He's already a millionaire.

Playing baseball is fun, and he probably only has another year or two of it at most.

Working in medical really isn't, which he can partake in for the remainder of his life if he so chooses.

Yeah, I'd sign a minor league contract in a heartbeat, and I can't even throw overhead anymore

I'll always remember him for being the centerpiece in that trade. Quite possibly the greatest to ever wear #5 for us.

His work for Texas in A ball in 2014 is absolutely awesome -

"The results were ugly: 18 batters faced, nine walks, seven hit batters, two outs. His ERA was 175.50."

How in god's name can you hit 7 of 18 guys? I wouldn't think you could do that if you tried.
And yet I still watch the .gif of him striking out Swisher on a loop for hours on end. Such a shame.

Red Sox 2003 top pick Matt Murton is (back) with the Cubs on a minor league contract.
He has been a Hanshin Hero for the past six years.
(Nomar is as yet still unsigned in 2016.)

My wife always asks me why Steve Young doesn't go be a lawyer. I say he's good at what he's doing, and looks like he's having fun (or as much as you can have working with Trent Dilfer and Ray Lewis).
