In the default style, subforums are somewhat hidden. Under each forum title, there's a line detailing the number of discussions and messages. Subforums would be the third counter on the line, and if you click on it a drop down menu will appear with links to the subforums within. Those work fine in Safari for Mac.

You can also go to your account profile and select Preferences under Settings. The first item you can change is Style, and you can change it to the other available option: SoSH. Set Style to SoSH, then click on the Save button on the bottom. Then return to the main page and refresh it if necessary. The SoSH theme has the subforums visible under each forum, much like we've been used to.

Hope this helps.
Nobody should really change to SoSH yet . It's still under development and it's hard to effectively maintain two skins. This isn't my full time job so it's the type of thing if I am halfway through something I'll drop it and leave it for later, and that later could be hours or days depending on what is going on.

But with that said, if it's really Scrooged you could always bounce back to default.

Same problem with Other Crap not being viewable. My sub should be good until Jan, so it's not that. I also did a full browser cache clear, as suggested. If it helps, I'm on mobile and did my first login via mobile.

This setup is noticeably faster. I like it.

This one is weird, and probably very low priority, but just in case it's indicative of something else...

I logged into the site a few hours ago. Went back to sleep. Came back to the site and it still said I was logged in (still had my avatar in the upper right).

Came to this thread. Read it, clicked the Forums tab, and I was logged out.

I logged back in, clicked the Forums tab, and was still logged in.

This also happened to me earlier this morning which is why I repeated the exact sequence. Is it a cookies thing that's making me look like I'm still logged in?

Like I said, low (may even be no) priority, just odd. Wanted to mention it in case it might explain more serious issues.

Advice on how to fix the fuzziness and have the whole avatar pic show in the frame would be greatly appreciated.

A little info on why the permissions were fucked up --

Over the past 15 years we've been on Invision Board. This is an entirely new platform with entirely new permissions. We had a boatload of different options for users depending on subscription level, etc

When we merged everything not only did we need to actually merge them, but we had to do it in a sense that we didn't want external eyeballs on places like P&G. So for folks who had issues looking at those places, it's because we started off as more restrictive and then added permissions (well, @SumnerH did) as we were clear that we weren't opening any holes.

The subscription system is also now totally dead. For those of you who fought it over the years (it completely fucking sucked, and paypal completely sucks, it NEVER worked right) will be happy to know that, but then at the same time we do need to pass around the hat at some point to make sure we can pay for this place. We're fine for now though.

While I know it is not a priority with all the other stuff that has to be figgered out, but will this new platform have chat at some point?

Why do people give a shit about their avatars? That's some low priority shit right now.
Because the crispness of that dude's picture of a disembodied female ass is important to his self-worth as a poster.

We've already heard from multiple people - all of whom use scantily clad women as their "avatar" - about how important it is that they provide the ass & titties. These men need the validation that only a picture of a hot woman can provide them.

If only that question could be answered by reading the thread.

Hey, at least you rolled with the avatar thing though.

I'm having the same problem, my subscription is typically due in February and I definitely paid it in 2015. I did the cache clear as well. Sorry to be a pest and thanks for the hard work all of you put in to the upgrade.

A couple thoughts on the changes:

I think the avatars need to shrink (or there needs to be an option to disable them) simply because they stretch posts out to accommodate their size. There is a ton of dead white space between the content as a result of avatars right now. It feels like everything needs to be compressed because right now I'm scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling...

Also not a fan of the layout of the main forum page under the "SoSH" theme. Scanning two columns across is just plain weird. Not to mention a ton of wasted space listing who made the latest posts in each subforum. I know this was around before but it has always been useless noise on screen and worse now with the space bloat.

My apologies for putting this here, but I cannot find the original thread at this time and wanted the higher-ups to know. With regards to the SoSH Sync some of have running using BitTorrent Sync, someone uploaded a bunch of personal files that have all been sync'd or are trying to sync now. I don't know who as I'm certainly not going to open any of the files, but if anyone else with admin rights on this stuff can check it out or if those who are part of the sync group can double-check their folder, we definitely need to get those files removed.

I know you guys are incredibly busy right now and this is way down the list of priorities, but I wanted to put it out there.

Can I bitch about the quote function? It now takes three clicks to insert a quote.

1) Click quote
2) Click "Insert Quote" in the lower left of the reply box
3) Click "Insert These Messages" on the popup. On the iPad you have to zoom around to find it.

Anyway in the future to have the quote automatically added to the reply like the previous board?

Also the "go to latest read post" is hit or miss for me. It often just takes me to the start of the thread or a random mid-October post.

The narrow width on it sucks. Or did earlier Friday. We can fix that, though.
I expanded out SOSH theme to fill the full width.

Shrunk the avatars and switched the main forum page layout to a more traditional one on SOSH theme.

I was getting annoyed with this as well and then I just went to each individual forum that I go to on a regular basis, read anything I hadn't and then marked the entire forum as read (upper left of the screen). Solves the problem.

I believe someone earlier said for that click "reply" instead of quote, but I could be mistaken.

That's a You Thing, not an Us thing. You need to recrop your avatar to make it fit right--generally into a square for the new software, I believe.

This is happening with me, only I'm getting logged out every few minutes whether I'm actively using the site or not.

One more thing: IMO the avatars now made into circles with all that white space to the left and right looks kinda awful. I think it was a lot better as squares.

There's no option for small squares, sadly.

I'm in the middle of reindexing search to get it working, so the site'll be a little sluggish for the next half hour. Though sluggish on the new software is still pretty usable.

I thought we were only supposed to be using the default version for now anyway?

Privileges now seem to be back to normal.

Low priority but Search function not working well. For example, in P&G, a search for posts or threads using "death" or "pool" turn up nothing but a list of users having "death" in their user names.
Search should be fixed now.

Damned if I know.

There;s that green blinking thing to see if people are on line, of course... apparently...

Until we learn how to kill it.

I actually don't know very much.
The blinky light only happens on the SoSH theam.
Default theme just has a green corner on the avatar.
Users can turn off the online notification in their privacy settings. So maybe a global setting there for you guys to check out?

Default theme also shows square avatars, with the SoSH theme with round ones.
So maybe hidden setting somewhere?

There's tons of options there. I turned off the pulsation but left the circle, but I can eliminate it entirely if people prefer.

Shoot, I lost an apostrophe. And everybody knows apostrophes are more important than commas.

[Thanks for the hard work, mods. The speed is impressive.]
Mugsys, you ignorant slut. Apostrophes are fascist. Long, live, the, comma.

[Also my thanks to the mods as well. ]
Fascist or not, the board software allows apostrophes but not commas.

Once the dust settles, I'm sure this upgrade will be first class just like everything you guys do here to keep this board going. Quick question, am I the only one who has to reset his password every time I want to log in? If not (or if so) how do I remedy this?
