Scouting Report
Dominican lefty Yulkin German is a late bloomer. Most Dominican top prospects sign when they are 16-17 years old, however German was well past his 19th birthday when he signed with Boston. In 2003, his first year in DSL, he put up numbers with which most players would have been released. However, the Dominican coaches could see a light in him and he responded in 2004 by repeating the DSL and pitching very well. His fastball sits at about 89-90 mph and tops out around 92. He also possesses a good quick breaking curve ball and a developing change up. However, his control is a work in progress. ~ SoxProspects.com
