Wilfredo Cordero Nieva (born October 3, 1971 in Mayaguez, PR), was a second baseman and left fielder for the Boston Red Sox during the 1996 and 1997 seasons.

Cordero's Moment in the Sun

  • On April 13, 1997, Cordero became the first player to homer off of the Coke bottle above the Green Monster.
  • In 1997, was arrested for domestic abuse and then again for violating the terms of his release. He plead guilty to the charges in November and recieved a 90-day sentance.
