History
The Red Sox returned to Wellsville in 1963, moving from Olean, NY. The Red Sox had previously affiliated with the Wellsville Nitros in the late 1940s.
1963 saw the debut of Tony Conigliaro in the Red Sox organization, as he won the NY-Penn League Rookie of the year. He would, of course, go on to the Red Sox the following season.
After the 1965 season, with the Sox unhappy with the situation in Wellsville, the team was moved to Oneonta.
