Overall Career
Urbane Henry "Pick" Pickering was born on June 3, 1899, in Hoxie, Kansas. Pickering was 31 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 18, 1931, with the Boston Red Sox. Pickering had a 2-year career, all with the Red Sox, as a third baseman. In 235 games he batted. 257 with 11 HR and 92 RBI.
Pickering showed little power at the plate and led AL third basemen in errors in 1932, his only season as a regular.
