Ugueth UrtaĆn Urbina Villarreal was born on February 15, 1974 in Caracas, Venezuela. A right-handed relief pitcher, Urbina pitched for the Red Sox in 2001 and 2002. These days, he's in custody facing attempted murder charges in Venezuela, which ranks as only slightly less miserable than pitching for the Yankees.

Overall Career
Signed as a non-drafted free agent by the Montreal Expos in 1990, Urbina made his major league debut in 1995. After five years with the Expos, Urbina was traded to the Red Sox for Tomo Ohka and Rich Rundles. In just under 2 full season with Boston, Urbina pitched 80 innings in 80 games, giving up 60 hits and 25 earned runs. Prior to the 2003 season, Urbina signed with the Texas Rangers, who traded him to Florida for Adrian Gonzalez, Ryan Snare, and Will Smith just halfway through the season. (DJ Jazzy Jeff was not a part of the trade.) In Florida, Urbina appeared in 33 games with an ERA of 1.41 on the way to a World Series Championship. Uggie played with the Detroit Tigers in 2004 and half of 2005, before he was traded to Philadelphia.
