Thomas Griffith "Tut" Jenkins was born on April 10, 1898, in Camden, Alabama. Jenkins was 27 years old when he broke into the big leagues on September 15, 1925, with the Boston Red Sox.
Jenkins had a 6-year career as an outfielder. In 171 games he batted .259 with 3 HR and 44 RBI.
