Summary: The quick idea of this book: Barry Bonds took steroids. LOTS of them, and that's why he has a fat head and small balls. He got them from BALCO and shared them with Gary Sheffield. So did Jason Giambi. And pretty much all of the world of track and field is juiced as well.
The story is laid out with Conte's obsession of dominating the world of track and field with super athletes on seemingly sophisticated drug and training regimens. Eventually his client list expanded to professional athletes. The writers' research was was ingnited by access to transcripts of grand jury testimony given during the initial BALCO prosecutions. Since the publication of the book, Conte, Anderson, Jones and others have been convicted on several charges.
