Cecil Carlton "Tex" Hughson (February 9, 1916 - August 6, 1993). He played for the Red Sox from 1941 - 1944, and 1946 - 1949, as a pitcher. He batted and threw right-handed.

In 1942 led the AL in wins (22), strikeouts (113), innings pitched (281.0) and batters faced (1150) finishing 6th in the MVP voting.

In 1946 he led the AL in strikeouts to base-on-balls(3.37) and base-on-balls per 9-innings (1.65) Finishing 13th in the MVP race that year.

Trivia

Played at the University of Texas at Austin (the Longhorns), same school as Red Sox great Roger Clemens decades later.
