Terry 'TJ' Large was drafted and signed by the Red Sox in 2005. He had previously been drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2002 Amateur Draft and the San Francisco Giants in the 2001 Amateur Draft.

Amateur Career
Large finished his high school carrer with a 19-0 record, and led Seminole HS to the 2001 Florida State HS championship and the Baseball America national championship.
Large began his college career at the junior college level. In 2002 he pitched for Chipola Junior College, where he went 6-0 and helped Chipola to the 2002 Panhandle Conference championship. In 2003, he transferred to St. Pete Community College and went 10-2, leading his team to the 2003 Suncoast Conference Championship. He was a medical redshirt for the Crimson Tide in 2004, after appearing in just 3 games. In 2005, he went 7-4 with a 3.46 ERA as a starter for Alabama.
Pro Career
After finishing the season with Alabama in 2005, Large appearered in 12 games for the Lowell Spinners. In 2006, he began the season with the Greenville Drive and appeared in 3 games before going back to Lowell. Large has accumulated 7 saves in his first 16 games, and has posted a 2.47 ERA to date.
Scouting Report
- Good cutter/fastball tops out in low 90s, accompanied by a very good curveball which he uses as his out pitch. Missed 2004 season with a torn lat. ~ SoxProspects.com
