Overall Career
Sun-Woo Kim was born on September 4, 1977 in Incheon, South Korea. He signed with the Boston Red Sox as an undrafted free agent in 1997. Kim made his major league debut as a 23-year-old with the Red Sox on June 15, 2001.
He was traded to the Montreal Expos in 2002. He is currently a member of the San Francisco Giants organization. Besides the Red Sox and Expos, Kim has played for the Washington Nationals, Colorado Rockies and Cincinatti Reds. He bats and throws right-handed.

- Participated in the 1999 and 2000 Futures Game during All-Star Weekend.
- Was a starter for the Korean national team in the 2006 World Baseball Classic.
- While a member of the Colorado Rockies, Sun-Woo Kim started the day portion[1] of an August 8, 2005 doubleheader against the Florida Marlins. His teammate and countryman from the Republic of Korea, Byung-Hyun Kim, started the night portion[2] of the doubleheader. It was the first time players with the same surname started both ends of a doubleheader since June 22, 1974.
