Team History
The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are a professional baseball team based in Waldorf, Maryland, in the United States. The Blue Crabs are a member of the Liberty Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball. Beginning in the 2008 season, the Blue Crabs will play their home games at Regency Furniture Stadium.
In 2006, Southern Maryland residents chose the name Blue Crabs in a name-the-team contest. The name "Blue Crabs" is an allusion to the official state crustacean of Maryland. The team will represent the Southern Maryland counties of Charles, Calvert, and St. Mary's. The fans of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs are called the "Crustacean Nation."

Regency Furniture Stadium
Regency Furniture Stadium is a 6,000-seat baseball-only stadium in Waldorf, MD, that will open in 2008.
It is to be the home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team. With the groundbreaking for Southern Maryland's new stadium, a local company, Regency Furniture, purchased the naming rights for $2.88 million over 10 years.
Regency Furniture Stadium will be capped by sloping red roofs designed to pay homage to the Southern Maryland region's tobacco barns
