Overall Career
Darrell Shane Andrews (born August 28, 1971 in Dallas, Texas) was a third baseman for the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox. His best season came with the Expos in 1998 when he set career highs in hits (117), home runs (25), RBI (69), runs (48), doubles (30), and games (150).
In 1999, Andrews, bothered by a bad back, demanded a trade after losing playing time to prospect Michael Barrett, and was finally released in September. After catching on with the Chicago Cubs, back problems forced Andrews to miss three months of the 2000 season. He signed with the Boston Red Sox on February 5, 2002, and appeared in seven games down the stretch.
In a seven-season career, Andrews posted a .220 batting average with 86 home runs and 263 RBI in 569 games played.
