Amateur Career
Draft by the Sox in the 3rd Round of the 2002 Draft. Was ranked by Baseball America as the 230th overall prospect for the draft. Signed for a $850,000 bonus from the Sox.
Pro Career
Has been overmatched right from the start of his career, hitting only .168 in the GCL in 2003. Rebounded to hit .281 in A ball in 2004, but slumped to only .231 in High A ball in 2005.
Scouting Report
White struggled in 2003 at GCL, but still impressed management with his arm, his strike zone discipline and power potential. He is an above-average third-baseman. White received a large signing bonus, meaning the organization will likely remain devoted to him for a few years at the very least. White has also impressed the Sox brass with his work ethic, but still has been placed in conditioning programs. ~ SoxProspects.com
