Scott Shoemaker signed with the Boston Red Sox as a free agent prior to the 2004 draft. He is currently a member of the Texas Rangers organization.

Amateur Career
Played at Long Beach State in 2003. Appeared in 13 games, starting eight. Recorded a 1-1 record with one save, a 3.60 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 45 innings. Transferred to San Diego State in advance of the 2004 season. Compiled a 9-6 record with a 3.99 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 112.2 innings pitched.
Professional Career
After finishing his senior season, Scott reported to the Lowell Spinners for the remainder of the 2004 season. Spent parts of 2005 and 2006 at Single-A, Double-A and Triple A. Posted a 9-2 record with the Wilmington Blue Rocks with a 4.05 ERA in 73.1 innings, and an 0-1 record with a 2.57 ERA in 14 innings pitched with the Portland Sea Dogs. Appeared in two games for the Pawtucket Red Sox, going 2-0 with a 5.40 ERA and 10 strikeouts in 10 innings.
Transitioning to the bullpen, Shoemaker made two relief appearances for the Sea Dogs in 2007 before being traded to the Texas Rangers on April 18 in exchange for Daniel Haigwood.
