Overall Career
Richard "Rooster" Burleson (born on April 29, 1951 in Lynwood CA), played shortstop for the Red Sox from 1974 to 1980 before he was traded to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim along with Butch Hobson in 1981 for Carney Lansford, Rick Miller and Mark Clear. He missed the 1985 season with an arm injury (rotator cuff) and finished out his career with the Baltimore Orioles in 1987. After coaching Red Sox affiliates for a time he now coaches the Billings Mustangs a Cincinnati Reds minor league team.
