Team History

The Red Sox moved from Reading, PA in 1965, moving their AA team to New England for the first time. The move would immediately pay dividends, as the Sox, led by Eddie Popowski won the Eastern League Championship. George Scott led the team by winning the Eastern League Triple Crown.

The Sox would win the Regular Season Pennant in 1968 as well, but would not win the Championship.

1969 would be the final season in Pittsfield, as they moved to Pawtucket RI for the 1970 Season.
