Overall Career
Clarke Alonzo Pittinger was born on February 24, 1899, in Hudson, Michigan. Pittinger was 22 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 15, 1921, with the Boston Red Sox.
In 373 games, he batted .263 with one HR. Pittinger played several positions. In 1928 he signed a five-year contract with the Reds for $9,000 per year but played the last two years of it in the minors.
