Patrick William Donahue was born on November 8, 1884, in Springfield, Ohio. Donahue was 23 years old when he broke into the big leagues on May 29, 1908, with the Boston Red Sox.
Donahue had a 4-year career as a catcher. In 118 games he batted .212 with 65 hits, 3 HR and 35 RBI.
