Overall Career
Orlando Luis Cabrera was born on November 2nd 1974 in Cartagena Colombia. He was traded along with Doug Mientkiewicz for Nomar Garciaparra on July 31, 2004. He was a major part of the 2004 World Series Champion team, hitting .294/.320/.465 with the Sox and playing gold glove caliber defense. Cabrera played with the Montreal Expos before being traded to the Red Sox, and was allowed to test free agency after the World Series championship, in which he was signed the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Moment in the Sun
- On August 1, 2004, in his first career at bat with the Red Sox, Cabrera hit a home run, becoming the eighth career Boston player to accomplish this feat.
- Won a Gold Glove at shortstop while playing for the Montreal Expos in 2001 and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2007.
- Created complex handshakes with almost every player on the 2004 Red Sox, as well as Announcer Boy.
- Had a 63-game on-base streak from . This was the longest streak in the majors since Ted Williams had 84 straight in 1949.

- Recipient of one of the most indulgent Jerry Trupiano walk off HR calls ever: "It was more than a thought, it was more than a dream, it was reality here at Fenway Park". OC's walkoff happened in this gamein the 12th inning against the Orioles on September 22, 2004. Cabrera had flown in the same day after taking a two day trip to Venezuela to deal with a family emergency.
- Orlando Cabrera is one of two Colombian natives to play in the major leagues in 2006, the other being Atlanta Braves, and former Red Sox, shortshop Edgar Renteria.
- Cabrera is the younger brother of former Major League ball player, Jolbert.
- He wore number 44 with the Boston Red Sox.
