Norwood Ringold "Gibby" Gibson was born on March 11, 1877, in Peoria, Illinois. Gibson was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on April 29, 1903, with the Boston Red Sox.
Gibson had an 4-year career as a right handed pitcher. Gibson threw a spitball. He was the number-four starting pitcher on both the 1903 and 1904 pennant-winning Red Sox. His finished with 34 wins, 258 Ks, and an ERA of 2.93 in 609.0 IP
