Overall Career
Norman Francis McNeil was born on October 22, 1892, in Chicago, Illinois. McNeil was 26 years old when he broke into the big leagues on June 21, 1919, with the Boston Red Sox.
McNeil's major league career was 5 games with the 1919 Red Sox as a catcher. He batted .333 with 3 hits in 9 at bats. After Boston, he played with the Toledo Mud Hens in 1920. McNeil's minor league career included stops in Erie (Central League, 1914-15), Providence (International League, 1917-18) and Toledo Mud Hens (American Association, 1920).
